I remember the Heritage Bowl bet I made with RTD over at MEACFans. I think Hampton beat SU that year. The bet was that the losing site had to use the logos of the winning site for an entire week. Turns out that the entire network of the web hosting company this site was affiliated with at the time when down (the day after the game) and stayed down for like 2 weeks. RTD and the rest over at MEAC Fans where pissed. They thought I welched on the bet. And I swear that was not the case.

I was the one who issued the bet. I was telling my partner Jeff (at the time) that losing the bet wouldn't be a bad thing at all. It would have been a great PR stunt that would have resulted in more traffic for this site. Needless to say, I was pissed too. Hell, I wanted to honor that bet. :lol:

It's been a long time! I came on the board when my son went to Southern to play football. I have made so many friends and had sooo much fun. Time flies
 



There needs to be some diversification around here. :| 10+ years and STILL not ONE anglo outside of TT.

I enjoyed the presence and feeling lol of the only other one that was here waaaaaaay back when, Taryn. :read: :sperm: lol I'm sangle Taryn, come on back. :confused:

Man, did you ever answer that infamous question Taryn asked you back in the gap. Really, was it pronounced "Pice-on" or "Piss-on"??? :lmao:
 
Well, I think I found this site back in 97 when it was first announced that AAMU was leaving the SIAC to join the SWAC. I joined the SWACPAGE Forum in 2000. All I wanted to do was show support and talk some noise for the maroon & white. In the beginning, I used to post on the smackboard. However, as the years have passed, I've come to be inspired by so many posters who are trying to make it happen like I'm trying to make it happen that the smackboard is probably the only page that I don't even check out. I've gone from trying to smack to trying to network and be a blessing to others on this site. In 11 years, I don't think a week has gone by when I haven't logged in to see what's going down...my testimony...LOL!

As many have already alluded to this, TSPN or the SWACPAGE has been around more than 10 years. It was first created in either 97 or 98. Sometime around late 2000, the server went down as well all of the threads and postings up until that time. Around February of 2001, Kenn got this site back up. That is why many people think that TSPN is 10 years old when its actually a little older than that...

I joined in February 2001 by invitation of a Gramblingnite. He was trying to push up on me and told me about this site in February 01 that was wild and fun. :lol: I joined as Mocha Angel and then he came up with the name Seeing Spots and I joined with that name in August. I never posted under Mocha Angel, just read and laughed. I made some great friends on here and so glad I did join. The last 2-3 years it has lost its appeal though, so I don't post everyday like I used to. Too many personal attacks on Small Talk, a lot of small mindedness, stupidity killed my interest. I still love the SWACpage, but enjoy fb more! Most of us are on fb and talk all day long. Even my BFF GR is on fb!! LOL

I know that part. I was here. I was referring to the "97" part.
