I think he has a blind spot of how he quickly he moved in the broadcasting field compared to others. Hopefully he has learned a lesson from this.
 
If I'm not mistaken, I believe he was doing guest spots on the show while he was still playing. He went full time once he retired. So he was there for 12 years total full time, but I remember him being on during his playing days.

He definitely had a blindspot. He let that job become part of his identify and got to secure. Separation from employment is not suppose to be that hard when you have other sources income already in the bag. Pivot and an NFL pension, assuming he took an early retirement option, should have him firmly on his feet. I wish him the best, and hope he already realizes he is in a better position than most that get laid off.

Clark wasn't so much upset he got let go. It was the way he was treated prior to and leading up to his exit from ESPN that disappointed him.

He really thought they cared about him? 😂 he got into a tussle with his white counterparts publicly and espn is just like the nfl - when they don't have a need for you they cut you - Linda Cohn had 30 years and was basically fired

I believe if you're employed and good at what you do, if and when your employer lets you go it's their lost not yours.

Especially if employed, never let the work place become part of your identity. Any job offered and accepted is one that can be taken away.

Way too hard

And to do all that crying on your own successful podcast is just not a good look

Cam Newton took his firing like a champ and went on his own successful podcast and kept it moving
