The hits keep coming for Republicans ahead of the 2026 midterm election. But even amid a series of panic-inspiring results for the GOP, a new outcome in Texas stands out.

Democrat Taylor Rehmet pulled an upset in a Fort Worth-area district, beating Republican Leigh Wambsganss 57%-43% in a runoff election in a solidly Republican district.

Let’s break down why it’s a big deal, along with some caveats.

Do you think it makes sense for the Democrats to put more emphasis on races like this?

The dems have been picking some good races. The problem is the Dems still doesn't have a clear message. They gotta come up with one better than "Orange man is bad". We all know he is an idiot, but what is your solutions and goals!

Here's one:

The GOP currently supports an administration that has:
-made everything more expensive through tariffs.
-is protecting pedos
-sued to take away public assistance from millions of poor people, children and seniors
-violating your civil, first and second amendment rights through his roving masked gang of federal agents who've killed a mom and nurse who cared for vets.

"Do you want another 4 years of this?"

How can they not lose with that message?

Many of them have tried with the clear message. The problem has been NOT EVERYONE HEARS IT. Not everyone is going to look you up or your polices.

And the list Rated R listed is a good one but you have to place those ads EVERYWHERE and not just certain locations. Not just air ads on certain radio or tv stations.

And you have to bow down and talk to black folks. So they KNOW who you are. Collin Allred learned that the hard way. Along with some investment in black media-so Roland Martin can stop complaining.

Another issue they have (so do some GOP) is NOBODY really challenges them. Too many run unopposed. Some have third party threats who pretty much waste their time running. Like the guy who took on Jasmine Crockett. "Democrats are the Klan" is the signs he put out. Another was of his kid saying "vote for my Daddy." No debates, no list of polices, no interviews with media and nothing else. Mind you many had ZERO idea she was up for reelection. She won by 84% and declared the winner with less than 5% of votes in.

Also a lot of these upsets that we are seeing are milking on the Orange Man bad BUT they are also going to the people and talking to them. Many times in person in red areas. Many are using what Rated R said.
