Scriptural Reference--> Proverbs 27:23-24 (NLT)
23) Know the state of your flocks,
and put your heart into caring for your herds,
24) for riches don’t last forever,
and the crown might not be passed to the next generation.
Theme--> Stewardship
Personal Thoughts--> Even though I feel accomplished, as with many people when they approach their middle aged years, lots of things can and will happen that will cause them to reflect more upon the state of his or her life and how long they may have left to live. It could a health situation, seeing more personal friends and family members leave this world physically, unreached goals, experiencing transitions with career moves and realizing that one day, you are going to have to let the workforce go and move on, or even seeing you own children progress and become established adults....and the list can go on...
Yes I have experienced all of the above during this previous year, thus I was lead in my heart to move forward BUT in 2026 to put as many affairs as I can in order. In doing so, I thought on the Proverb scripture and these points resonated with me:
1. Perceive your possessions and their conditions
2. Plan for the future as riches are not permanent
3. Prioritize enduring values (family, relationships, spiritual growth) over fleeting wealth
The Big Idea--> In putting and keeping my affairs in order, I am utilizing at best everything that God has given and trusted me with, thus he is Glorified and those around me remain positively impacted now and in the future!
