The NIL era, big school boosters are throwing in more money and are more demanding as a result.

But it's hard to get those results when you choose to sleep with the devil. All these power house schools that keep joining conferences do one thing.
It's not just NIL hurting these schools. It's taking in the other alpha teams from other conferences.

Most of these team are going to cancel each other out in conference play.

As for Vick-he is getting that reality check that others have gotten.

NOT everyone wants to play for you and we have on idea how many OTHER schools have soured kids on going to Norfolk because of Vick.

Those boosters can toss all the money that they want but unless you level the playing field or cap the money-firing the coach won't solve a thing.

Not when you got better choices and lets not forget the damage by the guy in the White House has done to some states.

Who would want to play in a state looking to be bankrupted?

Lane Kiffin should avoid LSU and either go to Florida or stay in Oxford at Ole Miss.

Mark Bradley, who was a writer in Lexington, Kentucky, is a retired sportswriter from the AJC. He wrote a not so nice column about LSU during the 1980s. (I think it was LSZoo.) I think it was mostly about the basketball program but wonder what is on his mind now. He came out of the University of Kentucky, and I read more of his basketball columns than any other sport written by him. Anyway, if he was (or were) writing now, he may title a column LSZoo part II.

Right

If he doesn't go to Florida, he would be better staying at Ole Miss and keep the top 10 program he's built over dealing with the headache at LSU

He had better start winning. Then again it maybe a matter of time before he is gone anyway.

I have not watch them play this season, but whether or not it is the offense, he needs to straighten out the problems.

I do not see them beating the Tide this season.

Well, a blind man could see this coming. Needless to day being 0-4 in conference play three seasons in a row did not help.

.....

For Hugh Freeze, the Auburn job was a no-brainer. A chance to return to the SEC, flex his recruiting prowess and ideally compete for College Football Playoff spots. While the Freeze hire was controversial, it made sense from a football and "fit" standpoint. Freeze had elevated Ole Miss in performance and recruiting, and twice beat Nick Saban's Alabama teams at a time when practically no one else did.

But Freeze could never find the magic on the Plains that he did in Oxford. Despite overseeing an Auburn program set up to compete in the NIL/portal era, he never won more than six games in a season and couldn't spark the offense like he had in Oxford. Freeze was fired Sunday following a loss to Kentucky. Freeze went 15-19 in two-plus seasons.

Bruh, these idjits play when WE have the ball and are under center about to start play on offense.

Not when THEY have the ball; when WE have the ball.

And then the drum crew decided to post up directly across from Bama St's band and loudly beat those damned drums when we were on offense on that end of the field near the athl admin building directly next to our football team. Who does that stupid shit? Our coaches and players could not hear shit. Our QB was barely receiving comm from the OC/staff. A few tried to tell the einsteins to STFU and go away and they weren't hearing any of it. The refs asked them 3X to stop playing when we were under center. I just knew we would get a 15 yd penalty. And in a tight game like that one, a dumb mistake can actually be the game changer.

Where were the f'ing mentally sane band directors for PV?!

Excuse me for butting in, but I feel you on this. Those damn bands get on my last nerve!!! Don't get me wrong, I like to see them at halftime and during the "fifth quarter". But during the game they need to know when and when not to play.

Being a former Ocean of Soul member it chaps my butt when they do that.

It's like the directors have no game situational awareness.

I said this before and I hope everyone didn't think I was BS'ing but I was embarrassed as hell witnessing PV's band start a crank up @ the SFC when the preacher-man was about to pray pre-game. The camera was in preacher's face and he was utterly disgusted as he listened to the band go down a 2-3 minute tirade of blaring sound and he had to WAIT to give the convocation. The emcee just stated "And now.... we'll have a prayer from <such and such> from <such and such church>...." over the damned stadium speaker YET, these idjits started cranking a song. smh TF?!

This is the 2nd time this season they did this stupid shat and the last occurrence was at the last game. (not last Saturday)

Benjamin Butler never would allow that to happen. We played at designated times and no other times. All of this playing over other bands was not something we did either.

I've seen to 2 Valley games this year and the QB had to motion to the band to tone it down while they were under center

As someone said earlier, situational awareness.

It's that whole "the people are here to see the band" mentality that has taken over HBCU football. They don't care until the ref has to call them out
