typical SEC -they'll fire a coach and then whine they don't have enough money for NIL, etc. cause they're on the hook for a buyout plus a new a coach who steps into the role will want greater protection all around - stupid cycle but it's a mirocosm of certain people

Fired Brian Kelly failed to live up to LSU's 'high hopes'
A day after a 49-25 loss to Texas A&M in Baton Rouge, LSU fired coach Brian Kelly on Sunday night, with athletic director Scott Woodward announcing in a statement that "we had high hopes that he would lead us to multiple SEC and national championships."
The buyout is not as high as Jimbo Fisher's ($76 million), but it is up there ($54 million).
