One former JSU transfer on the roster is enough. We will see if Duke Miller provides us with top quality play before we look at any more.
Duke already réppin the Quarter Six like a mascot he's off to a great start already..somebody get him a NIL in the city...his initiation ceremony will be announced at a later time lol

The trench work should pay dividends.... that's where games are won and lost

I have watched my G-Men win several Championships when the trench work has been done, so I definitely know that you are 100% correct in that. Lineman Devin Love, Antonio Ross, Cortney Lyles and Mason Barton are good gets for JSU, and should be a serious problem for the conference if they stay together. That Ross kids blocks with his damn whole body! 😂

Anyways, props to T.C. so far on landing the most impressive early signing class in FCS. Folks need to keep an eye out of FAMU because those Vanderbilt, UCF, Clemson and FAU guys from who couldn’t draw more the 35k their non CFP 6-8 winning season Churches Chicken Bowls are now attracted to playing for a HBCU title in the Celebration Bowl during the bowl season instead. FAMU has landed some talent and will be dangerous once again.

Yea I think we are in great hands with Jason Onyebauga.
BCU also made some late additions with the three 4⭐️ DBs they brought in. That defense was decent last year and should be even better this upcoming season.

one day we are going to realize that these stars dont mean ish at this level. I wish we focused on what the player did the last year they were at their respective school. I see some people getting happy (on X) over a former 4 star who is a senior in the portal and got no college stats.

Players have transfer rankings now and not just highschool rankings. To say stars doesn't mean nothing is the furthest thing from the true. Yes, players with no stars can ball as well and some with stars can turn out to be busts

I wish we could go back to all SWAC selection team from last season and track what star ranking each player on that team made. I just dont get excited by players who have a high star rating who aint do NOTHING at their previous school.… no stats… or nothing but practice game film. Some of these transfers dont have no college stats at all. Now if its an all conference player coming in as a transfer like the TE we just signed… Ill get a LIL excited… but if I dont see no stats or game film… then they have to show me lol.

I feel you about the show me. I did some tracking on our teams and mostly all of them produced (like Aubrey Miller and NFL Zay Bolden just to name a couple). There's a reason Prime teams ran through the Swac and STAR rating played an important part in that just as there's a reason famu did this season with star rated guys a well.

I don’t think anyone made big deals about stars about. JSU has quite a few non ranked signees. The clips of their talent and the winning programs they are coming from is why I have to give TC props. Check out their class, it’s impressive.

As far as stars not being important, I disagree to an extent. Yes, their are thousands of non rated kids out there who can ball, another thousand of lower rated stars who will ball like higher rated stars once the season starts, and the hundreds that will walk-on in college to become beast. Still and all, recruiting star rating show your school and the recruiting world that you can land big time/highly recruited players. It also shows what other school recruiters thought about a player’s abilities.

There was a time in the SWAC when only about 4 of us use to land 3 or less star rated recruits. And at those times, the teams that were constantly playing for the SWAC title we the teams who use to have to more impressive list of signees that included more ⭐️ kids than the others. Now, we have more SWAC programs picking up 1-3 star guys. North Dakota State recruiting classes are usually loaded with 2 and 3 star guys. The FCS programs that usually finish in the top 5 always have a solid number of 2-3 star recruits. Star recruits don’t mean everything, but is does mean something.

Stars come with money… nobody is getting stars based off high school games…. It’s camps.. which some of these players simply dont attend because they dont have the money to attend. I know in my city the best players in this area dont have stars and they are much better than the players in this area with stars. For example the running back AAMU just signed led the whole entire state in rushing his junior year (in the largest classification)… and was 3rd while playing only 8 games this year. The no stars actually helped us. Recruiting didnt really pick up because of the stars…. I think he only had Troy, Bama State. Miami Ohio, SEMO… and this is a player who had over 1700 yards in 8 games and averaged 9.25 yards per carry. Same thing with Bentley when he came to AAMU.
