Well, I'm just glad the Bulldogs kept on fighting.

Now, I can express my disappointment in many ways. I will say it like this --> I admire Maynor for taking chances BUT my biggest frustration with him is that he keeps trying to get the team to do things that only uh... 5-star players can do. Okay @Blacknbengal . Post your laughing emoji right here ______.

I love em, respect em, as he is probably within my top 3 favorite Bulldog coaches of all time, but that 5-Star comment which was so funny when he first said it in reference to that other coach is now something that I will never get out of my head.

When he came on board with players already here like Bently, Glass, and a few others, it was a good thing. I know, I know, that transfer portal messed things up a little for him and for every school as we've all lost some key players here and there. Maybe he really thought that some of the younger players that remained or that he brought in under his watch were on that same level, but they simply are not. Therein lies his biggest challenge--> recruiting and/or maintaining players that we need that can execute the way he envisions it all. #shrug

He was the same at hampton - live and die on transfers and the record shows it - it worked at Winston but not FCS

He brought in some players that were big time performers. Dell, who is now in the pros, and the two all SWAC receivers that went to Bowling Green and the all SWAC running back now at Southern were his recruits.

The problem is he fell into a cycle of poor qbs. While Glass was here, Coach recruited two three star qbs in the same year to replace Glass. The white qb decided to go back to Missouri and play in home state. I think that school could offer some expense money. The black qb from Georgia was the real deal based upon his film, but he had head or personality problems and left. Then coach recruited the good qb from Miami that decided to quit just before fall practice and coach did not have time to recruit another one. So he had to play with rhe current qbs. Then the qb he brought in this year was injured and coach had to go again with the current qbs. Now we are in a cycle of less than average qbs and it will take some time to cycle out of it unless he just find a qb that can step in and win right away ang give the 3 star qb from California time to develop.

We all agree that Lankford is the better option. But I laud coach for giving Casey a chance to redeem his pride, considering the circumstances that brought him to A&M. Casey just did not make the best of it.
