The Texas Southern Tigers will win the 2023 SWAC title

I wanted to create this thread and come back to it in December when it happens. I really feel it this year if most of our KEY PLAYERS remain healthy ... no stopping the 3rd Ward Tigers of TSU.

Jackson State is basically a brand new team so a HUGE question mark there.
FAMU is starting off the season with a big distraction that will likely keep them in a disarray the whole season
Grambling State seems to be a serious threat but I feel like we can still come out victorious b/c we have the conference's BEST QB in Andrew Body. And I believe LSU is really gonna put a hurting on them and break their spirit before we get to them.
And nobody else really matters to bring up
Body mid at best.

Of course you think that now lets talk about what I think. I think JSU is about to be the biggest disappointment. All that great new merchandise, great new facilities, great funding, and great press ... just to be the laughing stock again of the SWAC

He added new and seemingly better qualified people to his staff. You do know it takes more than one man to SUCCESSFULLY run a Division I college football program right? And his head coaching skills have improved each year ... some coaches need time to really feel comfortable in the role

Body has put in great work this summer and we have better wide receivers. Including 4-star @Tigerpride transfer Quaydarius Davis LOL. I'm sure he's really enjoying his new life as a college student in Houston ... he's ready to eat
We will be fine young buck. We hired capable winning coaches, we have 17 reterning players who played significant time last year. TC has not missed a beat. Same regiment as the past two seasons. Nastier defense and nastier offensive lines coming. See you in Jackson in November.

I like the prediction. We shall see how it turns out.

I picked JSU to dominate for the last two years after Deion’s first Spring Season win, and was right. Folks thought I was crazy when I picked GSU to win the SWAC title in 2011 due to my lack of respect for the conference that particular year.

Maybe this brutha sees something. Good luck to sTu this year. I am hoping my G-Men can restore the roar get revenge after that beat down last season.

I think JSU or FAMU takes it this year.

Not believing in JSU is fair. I actually get it. Trust me I do. I think you are wrong but only time will tell.
Let me know how much Quay like Texas Valley (Thanks ZO) by midseason.
McKinney is probably the worst coach in the conference right now. We will see what happens this year. The west should be a tight race again.
Ain’t no tight race in the West! Brave Nation will rise to their rightful place at the top of the conference!

Pivotal for my Tigers as a 1st step towards their goal & for our dormant fan base.
Calling our kettle black also, our fans disappears after this game until HC smh

PV was the SWAC West champion in 2021 and we still had more fans on average.

In 2022 we slightly expanded our attendance lead against PV.

I don't know what's going on at PV. Ya'll got a nice stadium on campus. Ya'll were (fall 2023 that may change) the largest HBCU in Texas. Ya'll be having winning seasons. Where the fans? PV grads I know have PV pride but it doesn't seem to translate to athletic support outside the Big 3 (LDC, State Fair, homecoming). I remember reading a thread on here of a PV alum going off about the PV alumni chapter in Missouri City throwing a watch party in Missouri City for a HOME GAME! LOL And for those who don't know Missouri City is a suburb in the Houston area so it's not like PV is that difficult to get to from there.

The TSU fanbase I feel is a dormant one. If we can win consistently, I think we will surprise a lot of people with our Tiger Pride and random Black Houstonian spectator turn out. But we haven't had a winning season in over 10 years. But one thing about TSU that has not changed is that it's a party school so winning makes partying even more fun.

PV's athletic department as a whole has no successful outreach to promote a fanbase. There is no good marketing found in that specific department and that is a purposeful lack of effort.

The obtuse department has a stellar record for driving what few fans we have away.

Can't say I disagree, I drive round trip from DFW over 240 miles, but jokers 45 miles away won't make the drive, even the students that live right there don't come smh

I seriously want to intro the athl dept to a few Qual-Lean principles that I'm sure exist in those fbs depts but I know I would get frustrated dealing w/ these people + they would expect this experience education for free. Shiiiiiiiiiii... smgdh

I'm sure if enough alumni and students voice their concerns about PV athletic department lack of engagement and promotion, change will happen. But what from what I can tell, they doing a good job. The athletics website is great. PV facilities are great. PV athletics social media looks great. I think the main problem with PV is that most PV alumni drive all the time during the week so the weekend is their time to "rest" or drive less. They not committed die hard fans like seen at their big brother school of TAMU. TSU is more centrally located so it's easier for more our alumni to get to TSU under 30 minutes. And apparently a lot of PV students apparently get easily bored on campus after their first couple of weeks so the weekends is their opportunity to be off campus for as long as possible. Everybody knows the best parties, food, and shopping are in the heart of Houston. TSU still got a lot of room for improvement but I have seen so much progress since my time as a student .... today's level of school spirit and support for all things TSU is something I wasn't sure I would see in my lifetime.

Those higher attendance numbers for Bama State, Alcorn and TSU inflated by JSU games. Attendance will fall back to normal this year.

JSU is inflated by SU games (twice) too. So I guess attendance will fall back to normal for ya'll too LOL. Bama State, Alcorn, and TSU fans showed up heavy for those JSU games too ... don't steal their credit. I was actually a little shocked with the TSU turn out against JSU ... it was better than I thought given our record

Dude we didn't have SU in 21 and only jumped up 1000 more fans with two games in 2022.. Don't even enter this conversation if you've never been top 10.

Yeah you showed up so do it again. JSU was 41K the year before and 42 last year so the SU argument is trash.
