I knew he was very serious about coaching at an HBCU. I had shared with my Bulldog Brethren last fall that it would be nice to pull someone like him to help out Defensively and get his feet wet in the coaching ranks. Some institutions have this kind of vision in light of Deion's success and some don't.

Now I wonder if Ray Lewis is still interested in coaching at an HBCU as well. Anyhow, good luck BCU!

this was the 2nd name folks kept bringing up as having the same impact as Deion to consistently recruit FBS 4 star 5? talent...I disagreed that there is only one Deion sanders who is one of the Jordans of pro football...will Reed have a deion type effect on BCU or will he be just another SWAC coach who had success at the pro level of football?
 
Reed won't do well. Hope it works for him but I don't think he will do well for BCU. Coach Prime was groomed for the leadership position and had/has the can do attitude to get it done.

My opinion.

I think he'll do well. He doesnt bring the media flash, but he has the knowledge and a name the youngsters know.

I just hope everyone understands that he's setting himself up for the HC job at The U when it comes open.

That's the key. There's only one Deion, the charisma, marketing, relating to players/families, etc.

It's hard to replicate that with just any former prominent NFL player. I'm excited to see how this plays out for Ed Reed and BCU
 
This is a hire SU should've made. Great hire for BCU. This will sell tickets, move merchandise, get media attention, and get BCU in every recruit's living room.
