Look into your respective schools and find out how much they paid out to NCAA Div. II, III, NAIA and lower opponents.

Those games help prop up a lot of programs. Cause those games happen in basketball as well. Lets not forget about that sport too. Now negotiating a better deal I understand, but seeing the end of them I don't see.

And let me get this straight, the same guy that semi embarrassed a school by saying they didn't have enough money to finish a project so he had to use his own money is the same one talking about how the money games that help budgets are embarrassing the schools???!!!! Make it make sense.

Believe me when I say I appreciate all he has done in a positive light for HBCUs. But you can't poor mouth it one minute and then say we don't need something the next.

You should fact check why he used his salary. It definitely wasn’t because we don’t have the money. We have to wait on the state to approve state funding just like y’all and every other HBCU in MS. Use state funds without it being approved and accounted for and see what happens lol

You dont have to wait on the state for athletics upgrades. Well let me give you a tidbit that circumvents all that, the state can't control an entity like the 1400 Club. They can give and take care of all the facility upgrades without waiting on the state for anything. But you know more than me so...

We "the 1400klub" do not specifically have funds going towards this renovation.

And that's part of my point, he said the "school" didn't have it so he went to his pocket. Which I commend him on and it shows he cares about what the kids have and giving them a better facility. He could have asked the club but he publicly stated the school didn't have it.

SU foundation is a privately ran organization and funds a lot of SU projects which eliminates the red tape.

Yes and no. Precedent has been established (Kentucky State and the KSU foundation) that the foundation is subject to public records requests.

Question is ... will someone try to say the same in a case with Southern or the other state-run institutions.

I am not for money games but not totally against them either if you get your money's worth. Now right now I don't know if the market is stating that FCS programs get less than FBS programs when they visit. Maybe if the smaller schools work together they get what they are worth whether they are FBS or FCS. No one should be accepting less than $400,000 if you are a swac School. Right now because of the culture we should all be going for a $700,000 and above payout. Also I do not agree that the football team should get all of the money. If I were athletic director of course the football team will get the bulk of the money which is already happening anyway.
The football team and program funds the entire program. It doesn't make any sense to me while we can't charge at baseball softball and soccer games. At the very least we can buy some more balls with that money.
Sorry jstate fans but sometime Prime needs to do some more real research before he talks.
