Not at all. Jackson St. was so successful because they out rebounded their opponents in the SWAC by a large margin. I credit Ameshya for this factor. Reed can bring in another 6’4” center, but will she be able to give you what Ameshya gave you? If not, this will make JSU less dominant. Good players make better coaches.

You can find a 6’6” SG anywhere, but can you find one who will give you what Michael Jordan gave you.

I’m not from Missouri, but show me. I can’t believe Reed’s first contract was more than 145,000. in Jackson,MS.

Coach Reed is obviously playing the leak game in which she hints that larger schools are interested in her services in an effort to get JSU to make its best offer. And JSU will offer her an improved package, but not nearly what she could get on the other side. A mid-major may be willing to offer her somewhere in the range of $250 to $400, and a Power 5 upwards of $600. Best wishes to her in whatever she decides to do, as I'm sure it will be in the best interest of her and her family.

How about her becoming the best version of Tameka Reed in the SWAC? Is that possible? I’m not sure why we are so quick to discount what we can do for ourselves! She has a plan of who she wants to be and that might be somewhere between the best compensating job and the best place for her to make a difference! Perhaps a novel concept to some of you!
BTW, that may very well not be at JSU but it will definitely be her choice!
