Well we are down to the last two games to be played in "The Stage" "The Hot Box" aka Elmore Gym. This is a chance to post your most Famous or Infamous experience in Dear Ole Elmore. I know all AAMU folks have a story or two, but all are welcome to share.
Here is one of mine:

Back in the early 90's, when cell phones were 5 to 10 dollars per minute, my cousin had a friend whose older brother owned a cell phone\pager store. Now pagers were becoming available to more common folks and we had an inside man that cut the overhead (deposits) and credit checks so getting a pager was obtainable for us. But cell phones were still Professional and D-boy type toys. My cousin got a hold of a Techno bag phone (he was the fronting type dude) as far as he knew it did not have any service nor did he plan on subscribing to service for it. Long story short it was for show. Well one night at a game in Elmore fronting the phone rung, and guess who was carrying the phone at that time, me. Now to everyone around us we had just hit Baller status, we were terrified, was it Huntsville Hospital looking for Dr ? or a deal that was supposed to be going down. The phone never got answered and was destroyed immediately, we ended missing the men's Bama ST game and all of the after parties thinking the FBI or some D-Boys were looking for us.

Man there are too many that still can't be talked about over 30 years later. Big Fred and the boys with the dunk parties, The Lane fight, Saturday games during pledging ( before the intake process),The Ques vs. The Football team, Coach Pettaway on the sidelines cussing everybody out while LC was cool as a cucumber, "Left, right, left" THAT DAYUM HEAT!!!

The atmosphere of Elmore went further than just Basketball. The parties, Homecoming Step Shows, hell even the walks and rides to and from class over there are memorable.

A funny memory is when the comedian Steve Brown was auditioning hard for the Ques so he clowned one of the other fraternities and he was warned that wasn't a good idea. As he continued his jokes a member of said fraternity ran out of the crowd, punched him in his eye, and disappeared back into the crowd. SWAT was too slow, everybody laughed, nobody snitched. 🤣 🤣🤣

This was my post on the AAMU Sports Forum FB Page from a thread that I myself created about Elmore two years ago:

In no particular order:

1. That band that used to play "Dazz" by Brick at the halftime of Basketball Games (yeah I go way back).
2. That night when Lemoyne-Owen's Basketball team back in the late 80s tested the gangsta of the AAMU Crowd
3. Willie Hayes-Ondray Wagner-Frank Sillmon-King Greene <--nothing else needs to be said
4. NYSP Summers in the mid 80s.
5. When J.O.J. had to move their games against Lee and Butler in 90 to accommodate the crowds.
6. The night when the AAMU crowd got into it with ASU crowd and my pops snatched me and we both took off running because, he thought they were about to bring the heat.
7. When Frats hanging out on the 2nd level used to accidently fall down and drop food and drank on the crowd on the lower level.
8. "This crowd is dead dead dead, This crowd is live live live."

Will Elmore get torn down, be re-purposed, or get renovated? Before the addition of BCU to the conference, it would have been the last SWAC basketball venue to be replaced by a new modern arena or a substantially renovated one. Elmore went out with a bang, however; the women's game vs. SU went to double overtime and the men's game vs. SU was decided by a point.

A good man Ben Jobe was. Much much respect for what he did on on the Hill as well. His stay wasn't very long, but his impact was immediate and set the stage for Pettaway to do what he did. I still keep in contact with his son as well. #goodpeeps

Showboat and the twenty minutes of Rock the Bells "mix/remix scratches " Dusk to Dawn parties. YOU BETTER BE THERE. Snow boots required
