Here is bigger picture-Deon use Jackson Sate for his training to be a coach and a school that plays for a National Title comes calling.... Something NO black head coach has won.

Jackson State should enjoy all the PERK he is bringing. However those perks of new attention bring a DEMAND of change and improvement beyond the football field. In fact the WHOLE conference has to step up. Because everybody is being looked at. EVERYBODY.

I agree with this statement, Prime whether we like it or not have brought the demand to do better and improve. Our Coaches for years have been behind when it comes to getting better facilities etc. My personally feeling is that if you cannot give your student athletes the tools to succeed and compete, you need to rethink your sports program. The mindset of doing a lot with a little has to go..

IBelieve and couldn't wait for a move like this one to occur w/in the SWAC. I'm w/ the "sheeple" who have the good sense and know that change (in the formula) is required in order to foster a more positive outcome. JSU is winning, in more ways than one. I give credit where credit is due. I am NEVER blinded by traditional colored folk jealousy and envy, unlike too many. lol

I'm rooting for TnSU to win the Covid SHC. Sounds like a fun atmosphere. The pickled pig feet battle and the collard greens cook-off before the game should enhance the cultural draw along with the name draw of Prime vs the guy who one armed slammed Ray Lewis into the turf with the business end of his stiff arm. #gitYoPopcorn

They are way worser’ !

They would be raising holy hell about guy with no coaching experience whatsoever taking over they program. It’s valid points not Hate. They would pick dude resume apart and have a variety of questions about the hire. Hopefully he will hire good people around him.

yep - they wouldn't allow that to happen unless there was serious, serious and more serious cash behind it and still would kill it. Tennessee tried to bring in Schiano and the AD lost his job behind that.

They don't experiment with the golden goose

Right. With us.. we get denied so many things from even just the basics in CLASS in education. So when we see a hiccup, we don't know the lengths of trash those schools do and the dust they kicked over every little thing. Yall want a laugh at that? Go to TAMU football message boards and see how they HATED Kellen Mond, and sometimes call for bringing the coach before Sumlin back...after any play that ain't a touchdown. Three of my young cousins had to be shown that because some wicked idgitsummer coach tried to plant the TAMU seed in their head.

That is a good move. This is what I was talking about when I pointed out to the JSU people the puzzling decision to make a high school c oach with no D-1 level experience the oc when there was an experienced SEC former oc on staff as the ol coach. And you saw how much they complained about offensive coaching decisions the last three weeks.

He’s co-OC... Jason Phillips is the other who has the most experience.

I would not crow over that. You put that up on a defense that is only slightly better than last year. A better judge of your offense is what it did against Bama State and Southern. I doubt it would put up 40 points on any good defense.
 
Well, not that I have a dog in this fight, but,Tennessee State, just start beating everybody in The Ohio Valley Conference.
