Grambling State vs AAMU cancelled

The SEC rescheduled it's Championship Football game from December 5, 2020 to December 19, 2020, to schedule SEC games postponed during the 2020 season due to the impact of COVID and involve teams that did not otherwise qualify for participation in the SEC Football Championship game.

The SEC Championship game wasn't the only SEC football game played on December 19, 2020. The SWAC should do the same. Don't let the TAIL wag the DOG. :)

But the SEC wasn't facing the prospect of playing a spring and fall season like the SWAC is.

So you want the already shortened spring season extended with the hope of playing a championship game which will reduce the time teams will have to prepare/recover for a fall season?
Yes. They will have all Summer to do that or do you think they just gon take the whole Summer off?

Be organized and make it work. We made the decision to go down the road. Now stick with the plan and keep moving forward. Covid shole is! Later on we gon discover that the best remedy to Covid is exercise and being active!

A lot of active people who exercise (like college football players for example) are catching it, which has impacted games. That doesn't seem to be much of a remedy to the issue.

we played at SC State.. we play at PV, Valley, Jackson State, Birmingham... 5 away
games.
So you only had 2 home games scheduled in the first place. you added SCSU late. And 2 home were canceled. Birmingham is every year so that doesn't count.

It's awfully ironic that ever since Connell Maynor called out Alcorn for opting out, his team has been bit in the Bulldog ass by COVID cancellations. He need to repent. LOL

The guys will need at least a month or two to recover (considering that teams like Valley or AAMU only have 1 game under our belts thus far, we are already getting built in break time)

Although I know guys usually start offseason workouts a few weeks after the regular season in the fall, they usually have 2-3 months to recover before starting spring practice and then another 3 months after that.

Don't extend the season and give them that usual 2+ months to recover after the SCG in May (almost 3 months for non-SCG participants). I promise there wont be a noticeable difference in Fall 2021

Catching it versus having severe symptoms feom it are two different things. Most of us have already been exposed and are either asymptomatic or our immune systems kicked in and did its job lessening the complications. I imagine exercise and being active play mutual roles in combating how the virus affects the body overall. At least, that's what common sense tells me!

Unless herd immunity kicks in we will be having this same discussion in the fall. We need all American to respect this live parasite and understand it’s seeking hosts to stay alive.

The CDC says the immunity lasts up to 6 months for those previously infected. Afterwards you can be re-infected and a carrier of the virus. We are still learning about the long term ramifications from being infected.

Bingo.

And we're finding out that many younger people who were asymptomatic or had very mild symptoms are now suffering from long COVID. We're also discovering that many NBA players who caught it are nowhere near 100 percent weeks after recovering from the virus. We're going to find out years from now the true damage this virus has done to the health of people. There are going to be a lot of permanently disabled folks because of this.

I see the thread, GSU Quit, has been removed. Well, my thoughts are they did not quit. However, I stated, when Alcorn decided not to participate, there would be a number of games cancelled. Waiting to see how this plays out as I expect a few more games to be cancelled.. And if so, who will step up and reconsider the punishment Alcorn received for opting out. AL A & M is currently being punished and they were my original pick to win it all after Alcorn opted out. Not playing, will hurt their on field chances. I am sure they are tired of hitting each other. It's not the same.

But originally you Alcorn and Grambling as your home games and I think your the home team for your neutral site game in Birmingham. Which makes you the home team for 50% of the spring season games. After the Alcorn cancellation you went into a home and home agreement with SCST having them host the 1st game so that's y'all's decision.

Our fall schedule will only have us with 4 games on campus out of our 11 game schedule.
