Grambling State vs AAMU cancelled

Especially when you have a sizable amount of the population that dont believe in masks at all.

This weekend in Miami Beach proves that. The recent Mask Mandates being rolled back in TX and MS is another. I think the vaccine will get things somewhat under control but I also can still see stadiums being at 50% capacity and mask mandates still being a thing in the fall

I don't have all of the answers, but don't you think TSU had a say in the matter as well?

I think moving the Valley game up to Sunday would work... even though it would give us a short week to prepare for PV and a flight out to Texas.

I know about that but I wonder will the conference office make a decision about this the way they did with the 2 PV games that they rescheduled.

That was rare, if so. The virus Shelf life on objects is limited. I just recently returned to the grocery store after receiving the vaccine and still feel uncomfortable with fools not wearing their masks. We used Instacart for grocery shopping from Mar 2020 until earlier this month. We do not participate in gatherings. We have not attended or plan to attend any sporting events. We do everything virtually, wear our masks when we have to go out and maintain social distancing At all time.
 
Commissioner will have to make decisions on games based on facts and cdc guidelines, don’t leave it to the schools. If a team has a positive, they can just call in, which is laughable. The fall will be the same way if sanctions are not given when you see teams violating. I think the commissioner is doing a great job, but got to get more stringent on protocols and not leave it up to schools.

The only way the commissioner can get more stringent on protocols is if he cancels the rest of the season.

As long as these dudes are around each other in group settings there is a risk of spread, especially with the newer more transmissible variants out there.
The university of Michigan athletics had to shut down for two weeks because of the UK strain running through campus

Which is why it's even more confusing that Grambling would also cancel the TxSU game when you both have common open dates (April 10th). I just think, if Grambling was still in the hunt for a SWAC title they would have rescheduled the TxSU game.

The SWAC front office would rather have AAMU and Valley sit around with 3-4 weeks off before our next game than to do something about it. It's cheating the kids who put the time and preparation into having a season. That's who I really feel bad for.

The SWAC could have Valley/AAMU play this weekend (like they also could have done last weekend) and that would open up our schedule again to play Grambling on 24 April, and give us our home game. But who am I kidding? The same front office that caters to the big3 and Alcorn scheduling, is gonna do a damn thing to help an Alabama school? Lol

I'm not disagreeing with you. I don't understand why AAMU and Valley couldn't have played either. As for TSU and Grambling, that would have been a TSU home game. I have no idea how all of this is supposed to work during the spring, but I still say that TSU ultimately agreed to this game being canceled as well.

As I told a couple of Gramblinites in a text tonight, if there is any silver lining in any of this, I glad the coaching situation happened now as opposed to it happening in the middle of an 11-game season.

The produce folk were infected and weren't using gloves or mask. 2 of them were sick - coughing, etc very symptomatic from what the HD later informed (non-english speaking). Peaches, plums, and pears in a non-refrigerated area. That is what got me and quite a few others, among other things.

Yea just like all schools ultimately agreed to alcorn canceling their games. 🙄
If gram says they ain’t playing then they’re not playing. TSU can’t make them play.
it’s a 50/50 chance of them agreeing or disagreeing. I’m going to go with gram quitting the season because it’s convenient. “We can quit & get a couple coins from the BC and put this season behind us.”
I know covid is real but I also know ninjas ain’t shit.
