Swac statement regarding Alcorn

"In order to ensure overall equity and cohesiveness with the spring football schedule, all Alcorn State conference games for the spring season will be considered no contest forfeitures with wins being awarded to Alcorn State’s scheduled opponents. Conference policy states that a member institution that is unable to participate in all or in part of the designated Southwestern Athletic Conference schedule, shall forfeit all impacted games."

This basically throws everything in a loop regarding scheduling.

Valley is gonna have Alcorn and JSU at home with probably a reduced crowd when it's usually alternates home/away with them.

Accordingly, without "proof" of Covid 19 concerns, Alcorn forfeits their schedule? Will they be barred from further practicing? The Commish should address this issue, as well.

They've addressed everything they needed to. Alcorn can still practice. For the spring they will be 0 and 6 (forfeitures). And lose 2 big home games this fall. The Aamu game will also be a home game and added to their schedule at some point in the future to make up for the game missed this spring (aamu rolled off alcorn schedule).

I still dont like the jamming up of Valley and JSU's schedules but if they forfeited, I am less critical because of how they did it.

I am mad because I look at this from not only from Alcorn but from the SWAC. If COVID was really the reason, I would not have had a problem with opting out if it was done in plenty of time. However we looked like being hypocrites when you have other sports playing but not football. I wish there is a way that we can just play the season. The decision that was made not only hurt Alcorn but the whole SWAC. I felt the same way when Grambling didn't go to Jackson St. in 2013 and that was JSU homecoming but played for their own homecoming. The AD has been making McNair job hell and has gotten away with it. Alot of Alcorn alumni are highly upset with the AD for not only sabotaging Alcorn spring season but cancelling on you opponents home game. I would have been mad if I was AAMU, Southern, Texas Southern. Alcorn AD is going to get ran out of town if we have to lose a home game against Southern. A home game against Southern is nothing less than a $600,000 payday.

I understand, that Southern payday is a huge loss.

This decision by the Commish still does not make SU whole. While the game that we're going to lose this Spring will be restored for the Fall, still the revenue SU would derive from playing in the Spring likewise would be delayed until Fall. While the injury to SU is not overwhelming (game revenue would be delayed approximately 7 months), nonetheless it is imposing.

Now y’all can go play ball while we rest and get ready for Fall. I hope you’re ready because the Brave will be. Good luck to whoever is the spring football champs.
With home games against SU, MVSU and AAMU reversed for the Fall campaign, how many home games will the Braves have left?
