FCS top 25 football

I'm trying to figure out if we are really not even in the top 31 teams. I don't have much of an argument against this list.

You have start playing FCS games from other conferences, and stop focusing on P-5 bloodbath checks.

Schedule James Madison, South Dakota State, Weber State, Montana State, or Kennesaw State, and BEAT THEM. Then, you will earn some respect.

Anybody ever been to the campus of James Madison? I actually caught a football game back there in 2019. They are more FBS, ready than any other school in FCS.

Look, I am not killing the dream of The SWAC moving up to another level. But, we need to start being realistic about the situation.

Bad example. The reason why JMU is still FCS is because they dont have a FBS home to go to. They want a C-USA/AAC invite and not one from the Sun Belt. They have an athletic budget of almost $50 million which is more than most MAC schools

I agree with what others have said. We can't have our cake and eat it too with the current format of the FCS playoffs. We KNOW they wont invite us if we have a 8-3 record and 7 of those are against the SWAC and the other one is Edward Waters or even a Howard or Hampton. You better get Central Arkansas, UNA, Austin Peay or McNeese on your schedules and beat them.

I know. But, how about Youngstown State? They have numerous national championships from football and never tried to move up.

I would love to see if NDSU would have the courage to travel to JSU in the near future instead of them paying HBCUs to come to Fargo

I agree though that we have to start beating the average schools first more on a consistent basis first (schools like AAMU, Valley, PV and SU have been scheduling them. We just need to beat them more)

For what purpose would NDSU come to JSU? Now they might pay JSU to come to Fargo or play them in a classic somewhere , but NDSU hasn't played a southern school in the reg season on the road since 2009

NDSU would never come south like that, the weather would be brutal for their dome team, it would even the playing field too much

Many of those games that you just mentioned would be blood baths also for most of our teams. But at least we should try to compete.

Which was the point I was making. Why should it be expected that NDSU pay a Grambling, JSU, SU, A&T, etc. for a home field advantage with them but they only play certain OOC FCS schools at their place? Bring your fan base to Jackson and help pack out their place and prove yourself again JSU in a hostile HBCU environ. FAMU. A&T. SU.

The same thing I felt about NCAT. They traveling to the Dome but NDSU not visiting them. Like I said last time. If NDSU wants Alcorn to come to Fargo they better plan on coming to Alcorn

You don't have to play the best FCS teams. Just play the middle of the road and bad ones. And then work your way up

I have been saying this for years. Especially about the SWAC programs. Other non-SWAC Programs love to give calls and schedule mid level to bottom tier SWAC opponents in order to rack up wins or show their University that they are changing their losing cultures. SWAC schools just sign for whatever they can get as long as it makes a headline.

SWAC AD’s need to start working a little harder and finding bottom of the barrel FCS programs outside of the conference so the conference can start having some non conference wins. East Tennessee State, Western Carolina, Mercer, Samford, Presbyterian, VMI, Stoney Brook, Missouri State, Western Illinois, Wager, LIU, Murray State, Georgetown and Valparaiso are all schools that are worthy of getting smacked by the SWAC.

The playing would be a non-factor as NDSU would destroy every SWAC and MEAC program on the road. A&T is the only HBCU that would have a shot at holding their own.

Many of the schools you mentioned scheduled and beat - in some cases handedly - MEAC and SWAC programs over the past 10 - 15 seasons.
