Swac Basketball Games - Feb 6-8

Never once did he mention anything about it being unacceptable behavior to literally quit on your teammates dead in the middle of a game, or that he would grow from this mistake.

So because he didn't mention what YOU wanted him to say that means that Tristan would not be punished.
It has been dealt with in-house as it should. Thanks for the fake outrage lol.

I blame Lightbulb for all of this. He could have easily de-escalated this by stepping in and calming everyone. Instead, he look on like he was watching "As the World Turns!"

Both Tristan and McKinnis need to be disciplined. One game suspension each. And them make up hug center court next game and apologize on behalf of the team, school and themselves!
 
I am old-school.......I believe McKinnis getting in Tristan's Azz had a better affect on the team than Brent saying anything. Brent said the plan was to take advantage down low and get the ball to McKinnis in the paint.....So what does Tristan do....take him a deep three. So when they called the timeout, McKinnis told him that wasn't what the coach called. He had something smart to say and McKinnis had to be the alpha dog in that situation. The rest of the team pulled together in the end and got the win.... If a joker quits on you when the going gets tough, was he really ever with you. Did you see any players/coaches try to talk him in to coming back to the huddle when he walked off. They knew McKinnis was right in what he said. You have to know your role on the team "that night". You are not going to be the leading scorer every night. Some nights the team's advantage is to score points in the paint and control the boards... Do whatever it takes to win.

Perhaps he (bow-tie man) was pleased with what happened. I believe he just didn't have the backbone to tell the kid to stick to the game plan and work the ball inside first and was glad the other kid said what he was feeling.

Whatever the cause, it worked to whoop yall ass. Couldn't even beat lightbulb head at your own place. And I thought this basketball coach of yours was worth keeping.

Jackson State Defense Suffocates Southern​

BATON ROUGE, La. - In tight and hard-fought matchup, the Jackson State women's basketball team defeated the Southern Lady Jaguars Monday afternoon by a final score of 59-49.

Senior Dayzsha Rogan paced the Lady Tigers with 20 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field. The Preseason All-SWAC selection also grabbed five rebounds in 37 minutes of action.

Antionette Womack came off the bench and recorded 11 points and 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the season.

JSU won the battle in the paint by a 36-22 margin and used its deep bench to outscore SU 25-14.

As a team, JSU shot 42.9 percent (24-for-56) from the field and held SU to 27.8 percent (15-for-54) from the floor.

The Blue Bengals defense stifled the Jaguars throughout the evening and forced 14 turnovers, which was promptly turned into 10 points.

Rogan Named SWAC Impact Player of the Week​

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Jackson State's Dayzsha Rogan its SWAC Women's Basketball Impact Player of the Week for her outstanding performances during games played Feb. 6-8.

Rogan (Ripley, Miss.) averaged 20.5 points per game to go along with 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per outing this past week of competition. She put up 20 points in Monday night's win at Southern and 21 points in Saturday's win at Alcorn State.

For the season, the senior is averaging 17.9 points per game, 3.9 rebounds, 40 assists, and 31 steals. The Jackson State Lady Tigers improved to 9-1 in league play as they claimed road wins over Alcorn State and Southern in conference action.
