Formalizing ‘The Smoke’ — Will the Alcorn Braves maintain their prominence in the new SWAC?

I don't believe anyone in this league will sleep on any team. Some of those nail-biters the last few years will make one lose hair....LOL One really has to actually watch those games to understand it. You have 5-6 teams that will beat anyone on any given Saturday.....Add two more teams from Florida now you have 7-8 teams.....But only 1 team can take home the crown.....LOL (And that team has been Alcorn State lately)

Agreed. Looking forward to the Fall as I really don't see Spring happening. Until then we will continue to stock up on 4 and 3 star talent. All will be revealed soon.

And then no one has unseated Alcorn anyway. If you pick one school at the beginning of the season from each side based on the recent past you have to say Alcorn vs Cookman every year in the championship for at least the next 3yrs.

On a serious note If I was Alcorn, I would rather be in the West then having potentially two Florida trips on my travel budget

we're happy with the move. Only team in the East that we had any kinda travel relationship with was JSU. The Bamas don't bring fans or bands, nor does Valley anymore.

In the West, We have a traditional rivalry with Grambling, SU of course is close and Tx Southern and PV we see them more than our East counterparts so I'm looking forward to growing that travel relationship with those two schools.
