BALTIMORE -- A Baltimore restaurant issued an apology Monday after video showed a Black woman and her son being denied service because of the boy's clothes while a white child dressed a similar way had been served.

Atlas Restaurant Group, which owns Ouzo Bay, said it was disturbed by the incident and placed the manager seen in the video on “indefinite leave,” news outlets reported.

“This should have never happened,” the company said.

The video posted by Marcia Grant shows her son wearing athletic shorts, sneakers and an Air Jordan T-shirt. The unidentified manager tells Grant that her son's outfit violates the restaurant’s dress code.

Grant turns her camera toward a white boy at the restaurant wearing a graphic T-shirt and similar-looking shorts who was being served, but the manager replies the child wasn't wearing shorts like Grant's son.

The manager also said he didn't get a good look at the white child.

On June 5, a car full of White supremacists drove through the streets of Knoxville, Tennessee, harassing and abusing people attending a Black Lives Matter protest. One of those in the car shouted to a group of protesters: "You wanna die? Come on in. 9mm with your name on it."

The occupants of the car recorded several videos as they went -- videos that were later uploaded to the encrypted messaging app Telegram. One of the channels they used was The Fascist Group Esoteric Anti Root Collective -- one of more than 200 White supremacist Telegram groups that have become much more active in the midst of protests across the United States, according to CNN analysis.
According to a new report by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) -- shared exclusively with CNN -- these channels have thousands of members. The ISD, a London-based think tank studying extremism, says they include frequent and explicit threats of violence against minority communities and BLM protesters -- threats that in some cases have translated into violence.

Mr. McClain being stopped for looking "sketchy" (what ever the hell that means) reminds me of the time our group was in L.A. on a lay over between concerts. Our guitar player went to get something to eat at a fast food place near the motel we were staying. On his way back from eating he was stopped by L.A.'s finest because he was skinny and had long arms and looked like a junkie. By the way, he, the sax player and I were the only ones in the group who did not do drugs. I was the only one who did neither drugs nor drank alcohol.

At least one person was killed and at least one person was injured after gunfire erupted in Louisville on Saturday during a protest to demand justice for the police death of Breonna Taylor, an innocent Black woman who was killed in her own home. One video from the incident showed a man shooting deliberately into an encampment of protesters just one day after it was reported that “armed patriot groups” of counterprotesters were expected to be there.

While all the details were still unclear, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported Saturday night that “shots were fired in Jefferson Square Park,” the downtown section of the city where the protests against Taylor’s police killing have been taking place for weeks. One person died following that shooting as protesters have turned Jefferson Square Park into an encampment complete with tents. Police later responded to another shooting where that victim was hospitalized.

A recalled bagged salad distributed to a dozen Midwestern states by grocery stores has sickened 122 people in seven states and sent 19 to the hospital, the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday. The salad distributed by Hy-Vee, Jewel-Osco and Aldi grocery stores is contaminated with cyclospora, a parasite that can cause diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, and fatigue.

The salad mix containing carrots, red cabbage, and iceberg lettuce is packaged as Hy-Vee Brand Garden Salads, Jewel-Osco Signature Farms Brand Garden Salads and ALDI Little Salad Bar Brand Garden Salads. All have been recalled and consumers are advised not to eat them.
