I don't care what the classification is. We got beat last night. Tulane's pitcher did a yeoman's job on the mound and ended with 13K(s). He was every bit as good as his 0.33 ERA shows. They are ranked #23 in the country for a reason. S.U. made errors last night and it's on us to improve and play more polished. The good thing about having a weekend series against a seasoned team is one gets the chance again today and tomorrow to play better and improve. It also gives one a reality check on where improvement needs to be made. The Green Wave will be on the bluff today and back in NOLA on Sunday.

Halfway through the game S.U. pitcher count was at 90. Your defense can't make costly errors when teams like this have more pitching depth, to begin with. The flood gates opened in the 8th inning but with a team like this, it was really cracked opened on the front end of the game. I believe S.U. will play a competitive game tonight (we'll see). What I am really interested in though is the Sunday performance. It will give me/us an indication of just how deep the pitching depth really is as it relates to competing against an above-average team. Sure you can blow PV out on a Sunday, but this Sunday will against a deeper team let us know where we really are in terms of pitching depth....Most people know you have to have those arms to perform in post season play.
