It’s one thing to be on the sidelines, supporting the team, MAYBE even throwin’ shots AND shade at the refs (that’s what I’d do if I was our mascot). He may be used to being on the field, but he does not belong on-field DURING game time. I don’t know if JSU lost 15 yards, or if it was assessed or what, but that was just a mess. Costly & careless. Never went to a invite that did not involve Southern but my takeaways from the game.

JSU has a lot to improve upon, but this is the first game, the next two will be crucial to see if they have made improvements
Impressed by JSU Band I will not lie. BCU was ok..
Btw if you were at the game, you know what I am talking about, they have to do something about adding more food vendors. People were leaving before Halftime coming back at the end of the third quarter..

We will be a better program before JSU. JSU has way more support and energy behind football than we do and still can't win important games.

I don't think it's the head coaches that are the problem at JSU, is everything about the football program that need to change.

Hendrick has already chosen Ponder as the starter based on his post game interview. Corrections there were 4 turnovers, maybe 80 yards in penalties (take away the 15 Sonny the tiger got and it's less than that), and the defense didn't hydrate (that's not a conditioning issue). On special teams the holder botched a few of those kicks but Salazar definitely has to clear the line (kicks too low). No need for TC to take over as we marched up and down the field on BCU. 3 and outs will happen.

Agreed. You won't see much against S Alabama. They are forreal and gave Nebraska everything they could handle. Nebraska only won because of turnovers sort of like this BCU game. I like our potential this year its finally where it should be. Once we settle on a guy we should be fine.

I haven't seen a decent JSU team in well over a decade ... keep being in denial.

TSU will be OK, TSU has made some really big changes when it's come to football operations these last 5 years. Like you said we have a losing tradition so it's a long journey but the trajectory is good I believe

I’m not sold on ponders yet. He’s improved but still thinks before he throws the ball... t.c needs to tighten his progressions a lil more to get the ball out of his hands or run. Jones is our plan b but he can’t take a hit and he needs to humble himself... swac ain’t no joke this year. But I like the direction and promise JSU has going on...

Wrong JayRob, it IS a big deal. The play may have been over but they were still wrestling for the ball and the mascot tried to pull the BCC player off the JSU player. Mascots have no business on the field during a game....period. Be honest man. Plus, apparently the officials thought it was a big deal...they assessed a 15 yard penalty.

Ponder will play himself to the bench against USA. Jalon wil be the starter by the tn state game. We will go on a run from there.
 
Please stop anointing Jalen as the air apparent. The most complete QB we have is a freshman, but the one from Memphis, Quency Casey. The only thing is he’s extremely frail and need to bulk up significantly. That may take some time though. Jalen has more upside but right now he’s behind Casey as a complete QB.
You can’t run RPO with Ponder as the run is not a part of his game or better yet non-existent. Jones decision making leaves a lot to be desired while trying to do too much when steady is needed. But an upside that we haven’t seen since Kent. Casey can operate the entire offense that we have implemented very well. The kid has been well coached!

I can agree with this and the coaching staff must agree as well because he was the starter.

Ponder to me looks no different that TnSU's QB mobility wise. He can move but I would not run a RPO based offense with him. Ponder is a thrower

Jones has all the upside as far as potentially becoming the complete package but right now he isn't that. He really needs a year in the system before handing him the keys. If you give him the keys now, you will have to deal with the good (potential deep ball threat) and the bad (fumbles and INTs)
 
We were better. Hell in first half alone we should have been up 21-0. All I’ll say is if the SWAC think this is JSU then they are in for a rude awakening. We left so many points on the field that Georgia State should at least be spotted 17 points when they play their next home game.

If beating TSU is the only thing you can brag about that's pretty sad. Everybody been beating us right now in football ... that's no secret.j

And PV is better than us .... I mean for one they've invested more into their football program. Go check out PV football resources and offices and compare them to ours ... we the underdogs.
