Kamala just said she wouldn’t propose anything that would specifically help blacks if she were POTUS

Honestly. Can we say black people saw economic improvements under Obama? Under Trump? I think it's fair to say no president has done anything for us on a large level in the past 40 years.

I vote (primarily in local cause that's where I see direct impact of my tax dollars) but I get why others skip voting.

Call me a single issue voter but if you cant comprehend a single thing you are going to do to improve the economics of black America, I cant rock with you.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say you think you know how she feels, but the question that was asked about reparations was a loaded one. If Harris had flat out said, "Yes, black folks deserve reparations," her campaign would be over as soon as she said it.

No one should be surprised and no one should be offended. This is politics. The game of politics ain't easy. It isn't fair. It isn't nice. It's not for the weak. And even though there are rules in place, politicians don't play by the rules.

I think Harris has been in the game long enough to know what needs to be done to advance. There is no such thing as a perfect politician. Obama wasn't perfect. Harris isn't perfect either, but there are a couple of brothers and sisters who come to mind that I think would be worse than Harris.

Harris is simply playing the long game right now.
I do not disagree with you

1. Even if I did, I still wouldn’t complain about Trump. For what?

2. So what some voters make more than me? Guess I’m supposed to stop living or something?
Thanks for proving my point. Your questions are typical of one who doesn't vote. And carries no weight in our public discourse.

Black unemployment rates dropped about 7 percentage points under Obama.

Sometimes I really think black folks don't have common sense. If I was running for office in a country that is 65% white and I am black that has a population of 15% with knowing less than 9% of them vote and I wanted to propose something specifically for blacks I would be stupid as hell to tell the majority white people that. Black folks gotta stop being sensitive all the time. There is a reason why the Bible says never tell the left hand what the right hand is doing.

Exactly. But, some black people are always looking for a hand-out. This is why you can't help every black person. Because, some of us don't see the bigger picture.

Yes. We were also coming off a massive recession but the facts are the facts and that did drop. However, the wealth gap basically remained unchanged between black and whites. Average HH net worth only saw small improvements.

I don't want a handout, I want tangible benefits. I feel as an ADOS business owner, I should be exempt from federal taxes and payroll taxes on that business for atleast 20 years.

No. I was talking about people that want to leech, and not do anything for themselves. What, I was saying was some black people think white people are going to fork something over to them.

-ADOS Business Owner.
Well, I understand your pain. Because, Amazon didn't pay "zero" taxes on their eleven billion profit from the previous quarter. Meanwhile, the small business owner has to fight it out.

So the answer is "No." I really didn't need a reason for you not voting, but whatever it is, you ultimately "punked out" and willingly gave the "W" to the very people who never wanted your black ass to vote in the first place.

And because you've come out of the closet and admitted that you don't vote, you technically have NOTHING to add to this conversation despite starting the thread. You've castrated yourself. Can you can't bitch about Kamala's policies. You can't complain about Obama. You can't complain about the political state of the very people you supposedly care about. Hell, you can't even bitch about Trump's sorry racist ass.

Kenn you wasting your time. I wasted a lot of my time arguing the same point with this Trump supporter.

But them same ones have no problem saying what they’re going to do for women, gays, Latinos and “middle class Americans.”

They say that because whatever they pass will actually benefit EVERYONE in some form.

Now what law do you want pass that is for blacks only? There are NONE.

Kenn you wasting your time. I wasted a lot of my time arguing the same point with this Trump supporter.

Ain't that the truth. I wasted a lot of my time arguing with him and a couple of others too. And did you see his earlier post in this thread where he said he has never criticized Trump. But yet he has criticized just about every Black political figure you can think of. That tells me a lot about him.

What I think a lot of people don't understand is, even if they are giving away "free cheese" you still have to get up off your azz and go get it. In other words, you have got to do something yourself.

Correct. I'm going to be honest. Black people should really be hesitant about trusting anything from government.

One great example is public housing. Man, I could name a few in Alabama that are nothing more than slave quarters.

Now, let's also look at government assistance programs. Welfare has done more harm to the black family than help. We have to be self-sufficient in this country. Because, nobody is about fork over.a blank check to us.

I don't want a black plan. I want a fairness plan.

More important. It has a much more direct impact on my life.
Yep and locally my county (Harris County, TX) just elected 17 new (19 total) Black women as judges. My wonder is how would they be received if they ever run for national office or get appointed to a federal judgeship that requires confirmation. Will they get criticized for "putting black men in jail" like Kamala?

Call me a single issue voter but if you cant comprehend a single thing you are going to do to improve the economics of black America, I cant rock with you.

I understand what you are saying and, lord knows, your point is well taken. But, pop, even if these political candidates laid out these grand plans to improve the economics of black America, in order for these plans to work aren't we going to have to do something ourselves? I mean as a community/people, as individuals.

Hell, I read an article in the Houston Chronicle a few Sundays ago about the disappearances of the black own funeral parlors. Now wait just a minute... SMH!!!

She's cancelled. Nobody's voting for her other than the regular black folks that still on some "Hope" wave.

#ADOS movement has picked up steam and will hurt the 2020 elections. There are more of us that's asking and looking for tangibles than there are ppl who are just voting because their ancestors died type crowd, We've lost them anyway, aint no saving them, so my days on here on trying to get folks to see the light over here (thank goodness) it's enough of us now, that's on board and more are coming to see we need tangibles and not symbolic ass gestures.

We'll just not vote and let Trump or whoever run the country into the ground and we all suffer and let the anit-christ just walk on in. So be it.

Get right with your GOD.

Watch Bernie. He is off the list now

Black ppl vote out of fear, those who don't truly know history their history do. They know the surface of black history and what's been allowed for them to know, the school stuff, the water down stuff, but If you know your history and the history of this country then you would understand voting for nothing is a waste of time. That's how I know folks that vote just because they don't want the other person to win, doesn't truly know their black history.

Why would you vote for someone who doesn't care about offering you anything? That makes absolutely no sense. You voting for ppl out of fear and normal ways that hasn't been working.

That's why the dems don't do anything but pander to black folks, because you got folks who just don't know anything about history and they will go along with anything someone says just to be down with the voting cause. Smh.

2020
#ADOS is shaking all that stuff. The older generation just doesn't got it anymore, they aint doing nothing but holding up the process with the whole keep voting a change will come, Smh. Malcolm told yall 50 years ago that them ppl don't care about your vote and yall still voting just to be voting, just sad.

Those two youtube clips are very depressing, embarrassing.

Bernie Sanders had a town hall meeting and said nothing.

We off him. Symbolism is played out. We don't need a face or anything, Obama had a cabinet full of ppl and "diversity" and that didn't do anything for black ppl.

1. We don't need any more laws or polices. We already have enough laws on the books, that they don't enforce.

2. We don't need diversity, when a person says and uses the word "diversity" that only means, 1 gay black man or 1 leb woman in a corporation, more Asians, and more gay white men,
