5 Bold Predictions For 2019 Season


If he didn’t want the job do t apply for it and make yourself look bad to all the supporters of the SU program. Trust me from what I heard they was close to pulling the plug but couldn’t come up with the one year salary buyout. With all the returners and all that stuff there is pressure to win if there is a subpar season his contract will not be renewed.

you only say that because you are a SU fan and hate JSU. How can AAMU beat JSU?

AAMU only beat us last year because our RB fumbled the ball at the 10 yard line trying to switch the ball to his outside hand. He was untouched.

Also, when we played AAMU, we had Hughes and Mumme on the sideline and we had Ponder at QB. Do you know how bad that is? JSU is probably 3 TDs better than AAMU. We should have beat them by 3 TDs last year. Dont be fooled.
 
..and let me tell you all something else. Alcorn good for losing a game they shouldnt... PLUS they lost 25 seniors and claim it wont hurt. It will. This is a team that had a losing season just two years ago. Alcorn will not be as strong this year as they were last year. Thats not to say JSU will take the EAST but JSU is primed to take over the top spot again.

All you did recently is win the WEST while GSU was down a bit then got blew out by LCorn. How yall let THAT Alcorn offense drop 40 points on yall? smh

While I’m a huge Dell fan.... He only played 4 games last year... Glass put up 2500 yards passing with 20 touchdowns last season... we just signed a receiver who had an offer from Auburn, South Florida, and Marshall... amongst others... we wil be ok at receiver.

SU fans know how the game is played in BR. Our assistant AD applied for multiple jobs, got the AD job at a D-2 HBCU only to have SU offer him a raise and he is still at SU.

Odums could have went home. But they took his DC instead because Odums knows he has it good at SU even if the street committee be on him. He has all the resources to win now that APR crap is over. I doubt if Banks runs him off unless Odums has a terrible season this Fall. Which I doubt. I assume he will have an extension done this Spring. Especially after this recruiting class. We are on solid ground. You don't screw it up hoping you get a so called better coach. His kids are graduating, no off the field issues, worked through APR. Only blemish is losing to Alcorn and suspect performances against PWCs that are not FBS. He leads the head to head matchups vs the other rivals in JSU, Gram and PV. Beat FAMU the last time we played them. Undefeated against the MEAC teams he has had to play. So unless we getting a star or up and coming coach. I don't see him going no where soon.
 
East
I think Alcorn should be the favorite until somebody dethrones them in 2019
I look for AAMU to continue to improve
JSU is two years away. Will make some improvements this year but 2020 will be the return of the old JSU.
Bama State will be either the surprise team in the East or they will struggle again. Not really sure about their head coach
Valley will be improved. Can't predict how many wins but they will be better.

West
SU has all the horses to win the West. Barring injuries, I think we will be back in SCG.
Grambling. I think folks are underestimating Gram. They will be competitive and have a chip on their shoulders.
PV. PV got to show me. Sorry I aint caught up with all that offensive flash or potential. Until they show me they can play smash mouth ball at least in spots and not be front runners. I don't think they will take the West yet.
TxSU - Growing pains for the Tigers. But a new coach and new enthusiasm fueled with some new talent will be enough to get them by a few teams
UAPB. They got some offensive talent. If they can get some defensive talent on the field. They will shock some teams.

I expect a SU vs Alcorn SCG again. This time its on the Bluff.

Untill PV plays smash mouth against SU. You will continue to lose. Same for Alcorn. We will keep your offense on the sidelines with running the ball. Dooley has some Orlando in him. He needs to get a nasty defense and run the ball more consistently. So sorry yall gone have to make us SU folks a believer in the offensive potential. I just don't see yall stopping Skelton and us in BR.

We might be two years away from winning the SWAC but we were one quarter away from winning the EAST this year with no QB. Dont let that game in BR fool you. In fact, our defense played well in BR.. we just had no offense since we had a QB from Southern. Nothing will be the same this year.. Hendrick turned our team around in 1-3 weeks. I look forward to seeing what he does with a whole off season!

No I expect you to trot new players. Just don't think they will be able to stop SU offense next season. Our OL is all back and they are physical. Yall will need two years to get that defense up to being like an Alcorn defense.
