Didn't yall learn from Jackson State about hiring position coaches from power 5?

It doesn’t matter where the coach come from. You have to find the right coach for the right situation. There is not one can’t miss formula when it comes to finding the right coach. Our coach was not my first, second, or third choice. He comes from the Kevin Sumlin coaching tree. I don’t think much of Sumlin as a coach.

One thing I can’t take from McKinney (our coach), he went out and recruited his ass off. 95% of our recruits have good size for their position. Now we have to wait and see if they can play. If we make some noise this year. I’m not saying win the west. Just get us pointed in the right direction. If McKinney can work his magic on his second recruiting class, we may contend for the championship. Good players make better coaches.

McKinney should do ok at TSU he hired a decent staff with some retreads but I guess that’s what HBCU’s do. He should be calling Dana Holgerson daily at Houston cause I’m sure he is gonna kick some players off or some will transfer.

I gotta say I'm definitely impressed with the class he brought in.

if what im.hearing is correct
.we will be in Ohio & Mobile(alumni want an A&M game there every year)..alumni in Cleveland & Dayton etc will be ecstatic if this other game comes to fruition.

you know dayum well AAMU does not have a fan base outside of BAMA... smh

Didnt Jackson State just tuck tail and run from UNA?

Unlike some schools, JSU has options and is in demand. We do whats best for US. Our old AD made that schedule. Our new AD modified it. We had a contract with them that we will fulfill or pay the penalty. That has yet to be determined. What you need to do is get like us... but that will never happen.

Granville Eastman. Jerry Mack's DC from NCCU that kept Grambling's high power offense in check in that Celebration Bowl

And the DC who's team got drug last year. The offense was decent at NCCU but that defense was their demise.

That's good and all for JSU to get that receiver. But we neutralized that by the dB with 4.3 speed. Everything JSU did, we did one step better. The road you deny not only got longer, it also runs uphill.

Dude, if you EVER think that AAMU talent will match JSUs talent, you are delusional. We lost on coaching... not talent. Once we got Mumme and Hughes off our sideline, things looked up. AAMU is not and never will be a concern for the MIGHTY JSU

I agree with you and I am skeptical about not only TxSo's HC but also their staff. However, you are only AAMU. and had to hire a coach that just got fired so you have little room to condemn someone else's hire. ijs

JSU basically lives in a Confederate hotel. You should be more humble.

LOL....You need to get a hold on reality. First Hughes was going to bring SEC thinking to the SWAC and show us what winning football looked like. When that did not happen, Mumme was going to bring an innovative concept and show how the up tempo game was supposed to be run. The wrong inference that you draw is that nothing worked because of bad coaching. Maybe that is part. The other inference is that JSU lacked the talent to make it happen. I saw JSU and notice that it lacked any credible speed. The running backs coming out the backfield were simply slow. Until that is changed, the results won't change even with new coaches.

You forgot to mention the DC who beat A&T 3 years in a row.

All of that success was under Jerry Mack. He did nothing on his own. GRANTED,I know nothing else about him. Im just saying it doesnt look good when your boss leaves and your defense goes to the gutter the next year.

I did think that Mumme was going to be an upgrade from Germany but I didnt know is that Mumme retired about 10 years ago and it shows. Dude got fired twice in like 3 months. Truth be told, he probably got fired from Belhaven too. So that would make 3 times in one year. I was never a fan of Hughes or OMJ. So all of this you saying I said issa LIE! But im #Hendrick 100%. Now, I have and will always feel that even a bad JSU team should beat AAMU so yeah, i prob talked trash but trust me when I tell you, those days are over. You have no idea how bad Hughes was and the good thing about Hendrick is that he had an audition and passed with flying colors.
