Refs Gave that Game to the Rams

The topic was blaming the refs for the Saints losing.

My point is even with the non-PI call, the Saints STILL had other oppprtunities AFTER that to win the game. One on defense to hold the lead and another in OT on offense. That’s not to mention all the other chances they had to put the Rams away early way before the 4th Q.
 



I'm still mind-boggled how at least three refs in the vicinity missed both penalty calls. That's very suspicious in and of itself.
When in doubt, throw the flag. It can always be waved off, but once it's not thrown, they can't go back and throw one.
The refs goofed at game-fixing.
 
Kendrick you can’t justify anything after that non call. The Rams has two timeout with 1:35 on the clock. The Saints could have run two plays causing the Rams to take both timeouts. Run one more play. Then kick the field goal game over.

The problem is the league wants to make the game safer etc....but does not have a rule in place to review such calls.

The Saints were robbed. There are people posting on this thread who hate the Saints but agree. This game was totally different from the first game because the defenses were better. I expected it to be a close game which it was.

My belief: Roger Goodell did not want to see and he never wants to see New Orleans win another Super Bowl as long as he is at the helm. It’s interesting how quiet he has been. No suspensions of refs. Nothing.

Last I checked, the game didn’t end after that call was/wasn’t made.

But you just can’t ignore the Saints having an opportunity to win the game on defense at the end of regulation and getting the ball first in OT.

The Saints had a chance to overcome that blown non call and decided to piss down their leg instead.

I’m a Bears fan. And my team lost in the worst way possible against the Eagles. Yeah, Parkey should have made that kick. I wasnt happy he missed. But, I was like our defense — the best in the league —- allowed the Eagles to drive down the field to take the lead. Or that the offense was only able to generate 15 points, which allowed it to come down to a shaky kicker.

That’s what’s sports is about. You have opportunities to take advantage of situations in the moment you are in them. The Pats — as much as everybody hates them — didn’t fold when they blew a 14-point lead and a 3-point lead with 30 seconds left. They got the ball in OT and won the game. The Saints got the ball in OT and turned it over.

The Saints robbed themselves.

Dude you know good and darn well that this game was SUPPOSED to be close. If you understood sports you would understand what momentum is and how one play or one none call can ultimately affect it.

As far as the AFC game I didn’t even watch it. The Super Bowl is on the fix and everyone knows it except you.

So you're saying the Rams should have gotten a first down on that OBVIOUS facemask on Goff that would have made it first-and-goal inside the five late in the fourth quarter, which would have allowed the Rams to go up 24-20, right?

They only saw that 1 missed call and it was against their team. Not the other ones that occurred that could have change the score.

plenty to blame the refs for. that was the most blatant no call I've ever seen in playoff football. but there were 3 targeting calls that were not made. One of those ended the season for saints tight end josh hill. Roughing the passer on the interception in overtime as brees was hit in the face (we saw what they won't let brady get breathed on), and another pass interference on the overtime interception as the DB pushed off so he could make the pick.
so the refs get a lot of heat on a poorly officiated game.
 



I get missing calls but when they are 3 officials in the area and two players....the leads to questions about the officials. I’m all for “letting guys play” but some things need to be penalized.

When you have the head league ref call the head coach immediately after the game you know it was a piss poor officiated game.
