He would've had three sacks in the Classic and another strip-sack scoop-and-score TD if the refs wouldn't have blown that last play of the game dead.

Over the years, one can't argue that they've had the best program and overall players for longer periods of time than any SWAC school, so that gives them an edge.

It's human nature to use information from your experiences to influence your decision making. I don't know what criteria the voters are expected to use to decide, how do you explain the #2 tackler in the conference not making the cut? Because valley hasn't had any success as a football program. If this guy had been the leading tackler you have to give him the recognition he deserves. I agree that Solomon Mohammad is better than Gram's Christmas, but I have obvious bias.
 
The voters are SWAC coaches and sports information directors, so if folks wanna blame somebody, look at their own coach and sports information director.
 
JSU's Keontre Hampton had a hell of a season as a true freshman middle linebacker and nobody from any school, including his own, mentions the kids name. For one there should be more than two teams selected.

But he didn't lead in any of those other areas you listed. He wasn't even in the Top 5 according to the defensive stat sheet on swac.org

Tackles (25th)
Sacks (8th)
Interceptions (10th)
Forced Fumbles (7th)
Tackles for loss (7th)
 
I'm still trying to figure out how a guy who's 4th in rushing beat out a guy who was 2nd in rushing and was one of the only two people who rushed for over 1,000 yards.

And....
