Prairie View A&M vs Jackson State: Game Updates - 2:00pm CT

His MEAC and Howard bias oozes from his eyes and ears. Guy is mediocre, at best, as a color analyst. I realize that HBCU sports is a different animal from other collegiate football experiences, but Walker is incapable of being objective. I appreciate him being a former player and alum of an HBCU, but he sucks!

If you think he is bad, you should have seen/heard jsu Lem Barney back in the old BET days....LOL

Just admit it dude. You don't wanna see Alcorn again...especially at Alcorn.
Naw thats not the reason. The reason I'm pulling for y'all because its good competition in my state to actually have something to play for at the end of the year. The Swac is healthy when you have Southern, Alcorn, and j st competing for championships or playing in the championship. Those are 3 of the top attending schools in the championship.

You know it’s a bad year when jayrob is stepping up in Alcorn’s defense. LOL

I've said we need seperate SWAC and MEAC color teams but we know ESPN believes in the one size fits all approach with HBCU coverage (plus the SWAC disappearing off ESPNU the past couple of years kind of makes this moot at this point)

He has become the typical Howard/DC Black person. Instead of actually understanding things for himself, ESPN gives him a mic to fill in the quiet time with his foolery. It's a shame how the media still see Black people as being monolithic through Howard.

he had advocated for Steve McNair to be voted into the college football hall of fame and he also done it at a MEAC event

another issue is our schools producing people in place to be seen by the networks and giving them on the job experience as a student? Starting from undergrad

He only advocated for Steve McNair because he played against him when Howard beat Alcorn. There are some Howard University folks who actually believe that Jay Walker was better than Steve McNair because of that one game. That's probably why they elected him as a Maryland State legislator in PG County. I"ll put him in the same boat with crack smoking Marion Barry. A lot of Black folks in the DMV are delusional wannabes who can't tell the difference between their buttholes and some hole in the ground. All they care about is making a lot of money so that they can spend twice as much as they can make. Pure foolery!!!

That wasn't a "they kept McNair out" thing but Alcorn not filling out the paperwork

He is on the 2019 ballot for the first time and hopefully will get in first ballot

I’m not sure most know he’s a legisl rep.

I’m quiet because we chat from time to time.

Supposedly, his family is from Colfax, LA just outside of my hometown. I might know some of his family members. If Colfax is his roots that might explain a lot. I'm still trying to understand more about the Colfax Riots, where Black men were slaughtered for being put in elected positions.

He did a full halftime segment from Colfax in 2008.
Shack Harris is his godfather

He’s somewhat related to Kenny Sykes from Grambling

I knew this female Grambling police officer by the name of Sykes. I think she's now with Ruston Police. Her and former LaTech female basketball star Venus Lacy were good friends. And she was related to one of my high school classmates whose dad taught at Grambling.

Also, Jay Walker speaks high of Ted White who is from Baton Rouge, LA. I'm sure a few Prairie View folks would love to see him leave and become the offensive coordinator for Howard. It sounds like his O-line is not getting the job done.

Plus we finally decided to open up the offense and "Turn em Loose."

There was nothing about that offense that was opened. When y'all needed a decent sized 1st down y'all ran the same play and it continued to work because our defense couldn't recognize it. I saw it the 2nd time y'all ran that play (pass to the flat under the outside receiver). It was open every time.

PV did battle back after a lackluster first half. They waited too late to start competing.
And they DO have talent.
Clock management by their coach in the last three minutes didn't help none either.

Yep, I would have used the timeouts a lot different than what they did.

There were plenty of new wrinkles showcased during the PV matchup. If you only watched one or two games here or there you wouldn't know.

What has happened to Memorial Stadium's Field?
This has got to be the worst field I've seen since the days before field turf at southern...

Thick, wet and uncut. It's like this was done on purpose to slow teams down.

And all the divits in too....

This is what it looks like during warmups. It just got worst as the game went on.
