That was probably a SU vs JSU game. At one time SU hosted the home game up there. They probably were pulling well over 50,000.That has to be a photo from the Steve McNair era, is it?

You say that now, but folks better hope AAMU don't roll off 3 straight divisional championships. And what happens when both teams finish with the same record and hasn't played each other.
I've long been a proponent of the SCG being held at the home site of the team with the best record. I also believe the SWAC Baseball/Softball tourneys should be scrapped in favor of a best-of-three championship series at the school with the best record.
I think it will be a tremendous opportunity to showcase our schools and campuses.
To the victor goes the spoils. They win their division and have a good enough record... they host (in this format). Get your tickets early.
its most def a JSU/SU game. (su pulled that JXN home-game blooper in 2009)

“If” it’s Alcorn/SU no hotels will be needed. Alcorn is 1.5 hours from BR. Folks can save, but I plan on making a weekend out of it, and pulling the Travel Trailer out.Only those not going to the SCG. More of the folks not affiliated with either of the schools involved will not plan to attend the SCG since they wouldn't know where it will be held. Logistics is much harder for the schools involved also since they will not know where it will be held with very little leeway for future years. At this time, it's easier to figure out since we know it will most likely be Alcorn. You still have to find hotel space further away than usual since it's not in a major city where you would have more choices.
Alcorn would be crazy to move that game.I personally think the Commish will ask to have the game moved to Jackson... Why? The money gets divided among the SWAC and all schools. Alcorn can probably accommodate up to 30K but I think an SU vs Alcorn game in Jackson could hit 50K especially if we are blessed with good weather.
Are you crazy. Man it’s a buzz right now about the SWAC championship game. Most all of our day games has been against meaningless opponents. This game would sellout Mumford. So many people have called me already about tailgating for the SWAC championship. I know folks cancelling their trip the Dallas for the Cowboys/Saints that Thursday for SU in the SWAC championship.Low-key. I would rather this game at Alcorn if it comes down to SU vs Alcorn. I think that game will be crazy.
Having it at SU (during the day) won't bring as many fans out. I hate to be on that wave, but I"m speaking truth to power, we are not fans that attend our home games doing the day, especially if it's a 2:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. kick-off here. Now if this game would to be at 6 here, then there would be a better turnout for our fans.
I think it would be best for this game to be played at Alcorn, SU will flood that dayum game if that's the case, plus it's an easy turn-around game if the game starts that early.
Having it on the yard (SU) at 6 would be good, give folks time to tail-gate and come on up there across the hump, at 1 or 2 here (at SU) I can see many folks staying at home and catching it on TV vs going up there at that time of day. We are not good going up on campus for day games. Lol.
LOLA lot of folks are putting the cart before the horse, there is a lot of football left. Heck it could be PV/Alabama State.
Just saying Dez.
Yea I hear ya! Keep hope alive!Just saying Dez.
No hope because I want us back fo a rematch to see where it goes. You have a pretty good QB now and that will test really how good is our defense. Sprink/Casem Stadium would be off the chains that day.Yea I hear ya! Keep hope alive!

They can stay in BR or Jackson lolBut all of the fans of both of these schools don't live in Lorman or Baton Rouge.
How does the revenue split with the setup? Does the hosting team keep the majority of the profit?
On the Carlos Brown Show @Journalist yesterday, Dr McClelland stated the the home team will get to keep the revenue from the game. The visiting teams expenses will be taken care of also.
Did Commissioner say if this is just a 1yr thing or will the game be going back to Birmingham again?
