2018 SWAC Championship game relocated

Being that Alcorn has the best record, there’s only 2 Hotels near Alcorn and they’re 200 miles away. That’s gone be a mess. It’ll still be good for Alcorn financially which is dope.
Correction, there are not hotels that are near campus. The nearest towns with hotels are Vicksburg and Natchez both about 40. Of the two of the top three teams in the West (SU and GSU), it would be a turn around trip for both fans bases. SU is about a 2hr. drive and GSU is about 2.5hr drive. My biggest question would be who takes the gate, SWAC office, host school, or even split?

Even split shouldn't be an option. The additional expenses incurred by the host school will be great. 75:25 in favor of the host school. The conference should gain revenue from sponsorship, etc.

Likely SWAC office. The host school would charge a rental fee and get a cut of sales if it's done like other conferences that host on campus.

C-USA: Conference Football Championship – After expenses, 15% Host, 10% Visitor, 75% equal shares.

MAC: . Team Expenses.
a. Visitng Team. The visiting team shall receive a $25,000 stipend to offset travel costs. Any costs in excess of this amount will be the responsiblity of the team involved.
b. Championship Host. The school hosting the championship shall receive a $25,000 stipend and will be reimbursed actual audited game expenses related to hosting the championship event.
c. Any remaining proceeds shall accrue to the conference office.

Who ever wins the option to host, move the game to Jackson. There is no benefit to hosting. You get the same money.

and you get to have 40-50K or vs 25K.

Natchez 23 miles from Alcorn.

Dude, I've been to Southern and Alcorn game when the game was at Henderson Stadium. Henderson Stadium is Alcorn old stadium, we will be fine. We take care of business and Alcorn loses it will be at Mumford. I like this setup of the championship.
That game can easily be 40,000 deep is what I’m saying

I love the move. Thanks UAB for having a good team and hosting conference USA championship game because that was the only reason they would move it. If Alcorn host the game they could handle it. They have a nice stadium and plus they could add temporary seating in the end zone or just sit on the hills. People act as if 70,000 fans will now attend the game. I was not going to BHam but i will be in Lorman Mississippi

Don't it tho! These Swac fans really believe we're like the SEC.

My biggest question is if we have schools like PV Valley and Grambling who Stadium's only seat 19,900 and under.. how do you work it..... And that's not a knock towards any school named because I believe PV has one of the most beautiful stadiums in the SWAC

I thought they was about to put the game back in Houston. CLEB and Herbert owe me Pappadaux. Well that means if Alcorn beats Jackson St., this game is at Alcorn. If this games is anything like the Alcorn/Southern game in 2004 or the Alcorn/Jackson St. game in 2012. Alcorn is about to make a killing. Traffic will not be nice, however it will never be as bad as Southern homecoming traffic was this year. Hotels wouldn't be a problem as people can stay in Vicksburg and Natchez. I don't know of too many people that was going to get Hotels in Birmingham. 75% of Alcorn and Southern fans would make this a turnaround trip.

Gotcha! Do they have a Pappadeaux's in Lorman?

Jackson could just do us all a favor and beat Alcorn, and then the game could be played in BATON ROUGE in beautiful 29000-seat A,W,Mumford Stadium. In Baton Rouge you will find 13,500 hotel rooms, more than any SWAC city other than Houston, and an abundance of restaurants.. .

Oooohhh, but if J-State beats PV Saturday, you just might get your feelings hurt. (LOL)
