Black folks have been there and done that. Before integration, we did a lot of things for ourselves until after integration.

And you have a lot of Black folks that would tell you that we were economically better off then than we are now.

Who? Name them and show proof.
As Kenn said earlier, make up your mind. Is economics and greed the ultimate problem solver for Black folks or is it not?
Black folks may individually have more money, but the dollar's not worth what it used to be and folks are less happy than they used to be for sure.
As for the SWAC getting talent, before integration we kept our talent in our schools but now they're all over the place for whatever reason. Those days aren't coming back.

You think folks at universities are able to accomplish all that innovation without expenses?

I'm sure people like George Washington Carver, Garrett Morgan, and Elijah McCoy are turning over in their graves. Some say the person who invented the cotton gin was Black. I'm sure his motivation was the pain taking labor of cleaning cotton. As I stated before, you don't need money to THINK.

You do realize we are not in the economic equation when it comes to controlling things. Others only see us as pure consumers. This is why our economic philosophy is so much different than Black people who come from Africa.

Also, sticking with the most VITAL resource as you mentioned, what good is a pile of money giving to a bunch of non-thinkers???

IMO, Louisiana institutions of higher learning are better off now that they don't have to rely as much on state funds.

I have relatives and family friends that played at Alabama. Trust me when I say that the nutrition program makes a huge difference.

How else can you explain guys coming back from "season ending injuries" in the same season?

Its called nutrients LOL
Or steroids

I don’t think they are either but!!!! I do believe we as a whole can increase competitivity across the board w/ systematic and targeted recruiting. Those 5* down to 3/2*s should be those targets, imho. It would take serious, competitive, and sincere recruitment, which I know most SWAC staffs aren’t mentally prepared to undertake. I’m sick of hearing this dumb statement: “we won’t recruit him unless he’s interested or shows interest in us.”

What a defeatist and uncompetitive attitude to have as an alleged “coach.” Their salary depends SOLELY upon the performance of recruits on the playing surfaces and in the classrooms and they are still fielding some unmotivated and lazy student-athletes (in whole) who are there, by default. Does a motivated and driven student-athlete need a coach barking in his ear for him to increase himself academically and athletically by growing, nurturing, and cultivating his mental and physicality (weight room participation)? No sir. There are way too many who are OVERLY capable and driven because they are mentally & physically built for it as they actually belong in a division-1 uniform. That message was to the viewing eyes reading where he went wrong and continues to go down the path of wrong because he refuses to sacrifice, put in focused hard work to better himself to even be classified near the territory of the greats the SEAC has produced. Has the physical frame but is HIGHLY undriven. What a waste of natural untapped talent. You understand what God stated about gifts and not using them to their fullest, right? smh

Honestly, its really about evaluation. Coaches need to know what to look for in HS prospects besides who else is they're being recruited by.

Folks pissed on Jones a lot, but Jones and his staff knew what to look for and kept large athletic linemen and smart players on the team.

I look at Brandon Parker from NCA&T. 6'7, 310lb and polished like an power 5 tackle! Nobody else was after him or Tarik Cohen! But Broadway and his staff had enough football knowledge to know to take them and the other players that were the foundation of his historic run.

Good coaches know what to look for

I certainly believe that also because there are a LOT of gems being looked over who don't receive the media hype that most larger entities have access to.

And on that note I will say this, I'm decently perplexed how a school like Notre Dame can start to write a kid the summer of his starting soph year, big athletic WR - 6'2" 195lbs of pure country boy muscle from a tx deeeeeep woods class 3A team who also hasn't received any football accolades/hype other than playing on varsity since his freshman year and he doesn't play ball too well outside of simply "dunking" everywhere (no good bball IQ).

The bottomline is staffs need to target the more physically and mentally gifted. Period.

Well, if you want to be petty about it...lets.

Go back and look at the first post. Read it (if you can). It looks like a grown man who is bitchin and incapable of making a complete thought. People like me are here to help you gott dammit. We are here to save you from yourself. You don't know it all; nobody on this board does. But you -- by far -- are NOT the sharpest tool in this shed. It shows with every post you create. And some times it would behoove you to simply shut the hell up and just read so that you can learn something. That's what grown men and women do.

Breh don't quote me ever again in your aging miserable life.

Goofy ass

Get mad

Have a good day sir

for instance. I went to the lsu v. la tech game a few weeks ago. lsu showed pressure & la tech's qb saw it and flipped the protection so the rb would pick up a free blitzer coming from his right. lsu responded immediately by backing the safety they'd brought down back into coverage and bringing the other safety into the box. lsu got the sack.
qb's in this league often don't account for pressure pre-snap and make adjustments and DC's in this conference certainly don't coach their defenses to adjust to offensive adjustments. that is preparation.

I wouldn't necessary call it preparation, I would call that coaching and an adjustment on the defense.

That's IMO not something I would say evolution. That's football 101 to me, and I've been asking for this kind of game-play in our conference. We don't move our safeties at all, (SU) I am speaking about. Our DC's are not creative like that in this league. Very, basic and simple, thus me bringing up this notion, why would one send a 3, 4 star safety to the SWAC? You're not blitzing him or having him roam around the LOS, why would he even come here to (SU) to play, when he can go to LSU and play like dude #9?? See this is where I get frustrated with our coaches, these kids watch these games too on TV and they want to be ball hawks too, they want to fly around a make tackles, do this and that, but we keep things very basic and simple, like dayum, this aint Pee Wee football, and we playing like it is, no confusion in the defense.

I've yet to see this in our league, One side plays zone and the other side of the field plays man 2 man, I've seen Bama, Stanford, Texas, even racist ass Ole Piss run this scheme

If you followed FSU last year, their SS #3 (he plays for the Chargers now) but they had dude lining in the box, covering the slots, blitzing off the edge, he was all over the field and he could literally change the game, we not doing that with our players and talent in this league. Our FS, and SS are playing 20-25 yards deep which is the basics

Money has nothing to do with how these coaches are coaching these kids.

The conference is plain out sad, You can throw millions at these coaches and as I said, their coaching skills won't improve, when they are not doing the things now. (how do I know) well I know by looking at the games, that last game SU vs TxSU was a prime example, A Top team (SU) with talent across the board and a coach that's making X amount of money and you get that display out on the field last Saturday, that's sad.

How can and would money improve that performance that was displayed this Saturday??? Hell folks were saying that the JSU game was sad too.

Money aint the cure for piss poor ass coaching in this league, these dudes are just out-dated and aint up with the times.

It's like that 55-75 year old Uncle or Grand-dad trying to learn how to operate an Iphone or social media, they just know the basics, which is to sign into their account. This is how these old-outdated ass coaches are in this league now, just know the basics, We aint using the Zach Morris cell phone anymore bud

Get with the times, Ppl are blitzing their SS's and FS's in games, teams/coaches do play other defenses besides Cover 3
