A school superintendent in Texas said he thought he was sending a private message when he wrote a public Facebook post blasting Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, stating, “you can’t count on a black quarterback.”

Lynn Redden, superintendent of the Onalaska Independent School District, made the comment in reference to the final play of the Texans’ 20-17 loss on Sunday to the Tennessee Titans during which Watson held onto the ball before completing a pass to receiver DeAndre Hopkins as time expired, leaving no time to try a last-second, game-tying field goal.

“That may have been the most inept quarterback decision I’ve seen in the NFL,” Redden wrote on a Facebook post promoting a Houston Chronicle story about the game. “When you need precision decision making you can’t count on a black quarterback.”

Hell I know some black folks who say the same thing. But its unfortunate that when black quarterbacks become starters in the league they never give them the pieces they need to be successful. Randle Cunningham, Rodney Pete, Micheal Vick, etc....

Well, I won't get diverted on this topic. That guys comments are those of a racist. It is the same type of mindset that felt that blacks were not intelligent enough to play the position. So many excellent AA QB(s) in the past we're not afforded the opportunity because of folks of his ilk misguided thought process. The arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice. So here we are in the NFL with those same sick demented mind sets that would like to "make the NFL great again." Not a chance bum!

And most Black QBs don’t benefit from the position specific training and coaching white QBs receive from youth.

We're benched faster than any other position where as Payton manning threw all kinds of INT's his first couple of years but he was allowed to grow in his position as are many others QB's that aren't black. However, history has shown that those types of folks do look out for and take care of their own, privately.
