Southern Feels Close Loss to Grambling Will Help in This Year's Bayou Classic

This run by Grambling is a bit overrated. Over the last three years, the SWAC has been very weak, especially in the East, while Grambling has remained an average team.
Still though, Fobbs deserves the credit he's being given.
Right now, in my opinion, he's the best coach in the conference.

The history books will only recall back to back SWAC titles and convincing wins over J-State, especially in Jackson (our home away from home).

Fobbs is a Grambling man, and therefore has championship pedigree. He was coached under the best of all time, and simply adding his own mark.

Now I will admit that the SWAC is weak without a strong J-State. Gram and J-State’s dominance speaks for itself as we entered around the same time. I think the SWAC needs to make sure Gram and J-State are permanent opponents. BCF is tainted if historical powers do not play each year. Besides, depending on driving speed, J-State is the closest school to Gram in proximity - meaning it makes economic sense (and cents) to play.

*dust off the old L couch* southern the couch will be waiting on y’all when another L is recieved. Rumor has it, y’all may put y’all coach on the hot seat if there is another Grambling L on y’alls resume
Speaking of L's, I hope you have that yearly beatdown penciled in for October 27th.

Ain't no one worried about Grambling

1) They don't have a proven QB after losing Kincade

2) They don't have a proven RB after losing Carter

3) Don't buy into that scape-goating Dooley for their lack of offense in the last part of the season. They will miss his recruiting and offense play-calling. They don't have a proven OC. Everything was all fine and well the previous seasons, but the minute they played teams that could shut them down, it's suddenly Dooley's fault. He won rings at both SU and UAPB and knows his stuff on offense. They fail to realize that their struggles were due to not having that huge talent gap on offense that they had in previous years. There was no Chad Williams and Co. that could bail out Kincade down the field when he had pressure closing in on him.

4) We were extremely limited at WR last year when Menard broke his leg, now we have plenty and size on the outside that we can go to down the field. We have game breakers at both WR and RB. Plus have 2 TEs that cause all sorts of matchup problems. The defense has more depth and experience so I look for them to step it up big time. My only concern is at QB since we'll be breaking in a new QB.

You right, Kincaid covered up alot of Grambling issues last year.

For the most part, I agree BUT at this point, none of us can overlook Grambling and Fobbs.

NO WE AREN'T SO QUIT LYING!!!

Nice.

We don’t care if you are worried. We all can list a series of unknowns. Seriously. Better win this year. If not, fire your coach now. lol

Man, you know the “woulda-coulda-shoulda” story comes from those sissies when things aren’t going according to their “wannabe ghetto” plans. We just need to keep disciplining them. The streak will continue this year.

Two tigers in love. I wonder which is the female tiger.

FORREAL!! Its sickening how they ride Grambling nut sack like that! Smh

And what's really sad, they let those ugly piney woods wilderbeests pimp slap them every year. And to top it off, the only year they had a chance to beat them, they ruined their homecoming. I'm not a psychiatrist, but I get the strange feeling that we have some type of abusive relationship between these two tigers, with the abused tiger having a serious case of Stockholm Syndrome.

Nobody and I do mean NOBODY like Southern. Has nothing to do with Alliances... LOL

Speak for yourselves. Prairie View A&M University is not named "NOBODY." We have a longstanding respect for our children to the east. Too much common ground between us, and even Grambling St. JAGs talk mad cash shit but we absorb like a sponge and return mad cash shit speak whilst recruiting the same IH10 corridors. ::read::
