HBCU Coaches on Hot Seat

McNair is in the hot seat, Alcorn folks know there are some on and off the field issues.
Odums has to beat Grambling this year, i have talked to some folks close to the board and they aren’t happy with Odums being 1-3 vs Fobbs. If he goes 1-4 vs Fobbs, he will have to wait til after the 2019 season to discuss a contract extension.
Hayward is getting paid 100000 per win and his squads have been blown out multiple times. Grambling has scored an average of 48 points per contest vs Hayward. It’s do or die this season
Dooley- he was hired on the premise that he will lead PV to a championship, and he could beat Grambling in Dallas. His program have hit a number of problems due to his lack of leadership and oversight, so there’s already a distaste for him among some panther faithful. He could possibly start the season 0-5
Hughes- they are Jackson State point blank period

LOL

I think if you're on a 2-year deal, that automatically means your seat is hot. DHE has to win and now. If he starts 0-6, 0-7 it's over. If he can beat tuskegee, kennesaw state, be respectable for a half against auburn, and be in the game/beat south alabama he's got new life.
Well dang, if he does all of that he's getting a raise. lol

they should have beat tuskegee & kennesaw last season with no qb and no offensive coordinator. they should be better at both spots this year. auburn, well, you just hope they can compete for a little while, but south alabama is terrible and if tennessee state beat georgia state last season, it's not out of the realm of reality that the hornets could beat them. If not, the fan base should expect they'll be competitive in that game. Circumstances can change. If USA comes out like gangbusters then expectations change.

I cant really see McNair being on the hotseat but then again I can. They dont have a President right now. I hear the old Prez was behind making him redo his staff. I may be bias but Alcorn took advantage of JSU and Alabama State destroying our own programs. I cant see them doing much better than McNair but if they fire him they better be ready to go all out to get a really good coaching team in place. Also, I understand that Hopson was bringing in some outside funds. Money makes a difference.

People 30 years of age and below no nothing about j st doing nothing in the conference. These j st fans children children definitely will be clueless on j st football. All they will know when they see Southern and Grambling thats an L! I talk to a j st fan b4 the season last year and asked her " Will yall beat Southern this year" she replied Hell naw! Lol, its was a simple question with an simple answer that will be repeated for years to come. Mark my words!

Dude SU just started beating JSU again a few years ago! lol But hey, its not your fault we hired Bell and OMJ but your wins against them only make the series vs JSU look respectable.

jsu is the football program that will infinitely be known for coming up short when it counts. Despite PV being without scholarships for many years, they still have more BCF National titles and tradition than jsu. You can always count on them to come up short when it's all on the line. Alcorn wins when it's on the line and have more national championship pedigree than jsu. Basically they are a program that one steps on to reach greatness. Even in the 80's when they thought they were good they played 2nd fiddle to Central State.

BCF National Titles (SWAC Programs)

1) Grambling 15
2) Southern U. 11
3) Prairie View A&M 6
4) Alcorn State 5
5T) Jackson State 3
5T) Morris Brown College 3

6) Alabama State 2
7) Texas Southern 2
8) Arkansas Pine Bluff 1

In the end, those titles mean nothing. JSU won the SWAC 4-5 times in a row in the 80s and was never named national champ. It just depends on when football is having a good or bad year. and SU won almost all of theirs in the days of leather helmets. In MODERN day football, your program is not respected when compared to JSU.

Like Donald Trump, if you keep telling yourself a lie over and over again, you most likely will start believing in that lie. JSU joined the SWAC in 1958. SU previously beat JSU in 1929 at a score of 98-0. After that whooping, the two school didn't meet again until JSU joined the SWAC in 1958. The overall series is 34-29 SU and the SWAC series is 33-29 SU. Since 1990, SU leads the series 17-13. Before then, the series was basically tied. Ya'll did a number on us in the late 70's and the 80's, but that was it, which is less than one and half decades. The series has been played for six decades or 60 years with both teams meeting twice in two separate years (1999 and 2013) for the SWAC Championship game, which gave SU two additional victories over JSU. The only thing JSU can hang their hats on is that ya'll have the longest winning streak of 7 games over us from 1977 to 1983, but we can tie that streak when we win this year and next year. Not counting the initial meeting in 1929, our longest winning streak is 6 years, from 1958 to 1963, basically the Mumford years.

yeah I always say that SU gets up for JSU just like Valley gets up for JSU.

Like i said if yall didn't avoid us for 30 years the series wouldn't be close. But without those sorry coaches yall hired we still got yall head to head.

Ashley is not and will not make those calls as in who stays or go! Hughes has 2 years left to get the job done. Only way he is let go after this season is his team lay a big egg, like 3-9 season losing HC. 6-5 record keeps him and 5-6 record is borderline depending on the loses.

He only had a 3 year deal

Never said two years on his contract.... I said he will have two years to get it done.

So you think they will give him a extension?

There is always a caveat with losers...LOL The Hall of Famer Arnett W. "Ace" Mumford has more national championships than jsu and so does Pete "I OWNED THE 90's" Richardson....LMAO!!!

yeah I always say that SU gets up for JSU just like Valley gets up for JSU.

Yeah, like you dummies don't get up for Southern University and A&M College Football Jaguars (kids say the "darndest" things...Thanks Art Linkletter)…..LOL

TP...shut up, you all been firing coaches for the last 17 years because of S.U. After we. finish mauling you kitties in The Ace, your SEC coach will join the long line. The curse of J.W. is in full effect. TP, tell us the story about Bell, the coach you all said came from a "white" program and had actually been somewhere and done some things (never mind send it to Tyler Perry)….LOL

I don’t think you realize how much you NEVER make any damn sense lol.
Then stop responding bleacher boy. I could've sworn somebody said that about you in another thread, I remember reading it. I didn't even press like button like you do because you are irrelevant.

We dont. Traditionally you all played us with losing records. Ya;ll were like Valley to us til Pete came and Valley to us again until we fired Comegy.

Who knows what would have happened in the interim. JSU might have taken ACE from yall... lol There are no what if's here, only facts.
