Is the MEAC giving Hampton the proverbial middle finger?

They should play the schedule to not throw wrenches into the plans of the other members remaining. Its why you have some Presidents trying to bump up Hampton's exit fee; to compensate for lost game revenue. Now you have schools scrambling to find opponents as most teams have their schedules filled in October and November. This is also inconvenient for Hampton as they now have to fill out a 7-8 game schedule and their post-season hopes are dashed.

Dr. Harvey was hoping to compete for one final shot for the Celebration Bowl.

I know of a certain SWAC school with a Nov. 3 open date...

WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! got dammit waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait..
I thought they had left the MEAC immediately! lol The MEAC is kicking them out a year early!

Shady but funny! lol

I thought they left immediately also....LOL....

They wanted to stay, play one final MEAC Football schedule, and just pay a small fee. However, the BSC wants them "now." Dennis Thomas and the Co-CEO's want Hampton to COME UP OFF MORE CASH since they aren't staying for 2018, and AD's (and presidents) are salty that they now have to scramble to recover revenue from a home game with Hampton (FAMU & NCCU).

All of this could've been avoided if they had better foresight in adding in an agreed upon exit fee and exiting structure.

Oh well... Hampton's gone and now, there's a "blueprint" for other MEAC teams to make the jump. On the bright side, We'll have a true round-robin, balanced football schedule in 2019.

Maybe our AD needs to call them for our 11th game. LOL.

I am glad I am not the only person who thought this. Don't know if we are still looking for a Sept. 15th home game but if we are, why not pick up a desperate team looking for games lol
