I believe the gentleman at Mississippi Valley has the toughest job!
 



Very interested to see how coach Dooley assembles a talented staff, particularly the OC and DC positions. It's no secret that current DC @ Gramblng St coach TGraves is being sought to bring defense to pantherland. The panthers' success will be predicated upon recruiting talented and gifted student-athletes.

I believe FAMU will be PVAMU/WS v2.0 in terms of coach Simmons' first year. The turnaround will seemingly be remarkable but also cloaked by a prior coach's talented recruits actually being placed in a position to win. Year #2 and #3, the facade will be removed and all will have open eyes. :)

I agree with the assessment. Valley actually has a QB (or two) and 4-5 deep at WR. We know we don't play PV or SU again so if we can get a RB and some improved OL play, we should be aight. Just wondering what our offensive and defensive identity will be.

Homecoming will be against UAPB
 
The toughest is PV. They are frauds that dont have a good history of beating any good teams. So Dooley has to please those who have been fooled and actually win.

The FAMU job is tough but they have been down so long that a winning season will go a long way for them.

Valley job is not hard. Its Valley. 60 years of futility is 60 years of futility. It is what it is now. I just feel sorry for Vince. He is too good to coach there but he has been making his own decisions. I hate seeing our young coaches waste years like that.
 
Valley coach will have the hardest job but he will have the least amount of expectations. I want Valley to win but unless Valley is going to set this man up for success, he is going to have the same problems that the last 3 head coaches before him had. I was talking to one of the Valley alumni from Vicksburg and he told me Valley was paying Comegy $185,000 ($100,000 from alumni). I shook my head because how are you going to pay him that much money and only give him 39 scholarships. It was also said that Totten turned the job down and they ended up with the interm head coach. I felt that Valley should have just found them a coach on the cheap and used that $100,000 they was giving Comegy to increase the scholarship level.

That's interesting!!! Last I heard Comegy was making $125k from valley.

I think the transition for Simmons at FAMU will be fairly easy...if he’s able to hire the right staff. The key will be how well he can recruit. FAMU fans miss that offensive fire power that we had during the Billy Joe years and even during the Joe Taylor years to a lesser extent...there’s a lot of speed to take advantage of in Florida and Simmons must recruit well and find a competent defensive coordinator to get the ball moving...he already has a solid crew of football players that he inherits from a staff that underachieved badly.

MVSU is easily the toughest coaching job in FCS HBCU football.

I know you like to come in here and chirp about Valley basically being an associate AD but if you honestly believe this, I got some beach front property to sell you in Lula.

In other words, stop listening to the street committee of "Valley" alums getting Valley gossip and running to this board to post and worry about Alcorn. Posting a whole paragraph of street gossip is not something grown men are supposed to do
 
If valley paid him 185k they stupid cause the valley job is a job where you hire young motivated coaches that can grind and get wins. I always say hire young FBS GA’s and let them continue to bring their system and you will get the results.

FAMU will win but unless A&T have a melt down and Central don’t compete they will come in third or fourth. It’s not a tough job but the fans and expectations make it tough.

PV only tough cause they have everything to be successful.

Bama State tough cause oh boy is not a proven winner.

Pine bluff will win games this year but he have to get coaches to move to the middle of no where.
