Prairie View A&M To Introduce New Head Football Coach Friday Morning


I wonder how many PVAMU assistant coaches will join Coach Simmons at FAMU, and how many are retained by Coach Dooley?

IMHO, you have to let a new coach pick his own people that share the same philosophy to implement his vision. I also believe it mitigates sabotage as well. In the final analysis, if the coach is going to take full responsibility for the state of your program, he has to have that type of autonomy.

My personal view on this is... Those who are left were not deemed valuable enough by the previous coach for him to take them with him which leads me to believe he thought they were considered weak links. I only say this because FAMU is throwing the bank at returning to success. So, money wasn’t the issue. Add to the fact Simmons’ wins were on the downtrend.

There could be other personal reasons beyond that for the individuals to stay but their personal reasons does not serve the new coach in the ultimate goal, winning. Just my two cents.

Excellent words and I thank you for saying what I wanted to say but cannot because I’ll catch flack from a few PVers for talking the truth and badly about some of their sorry admins/staff, who they show loyalty to vs loyalty to WINNING/DOMINATING opponents/recruiting. Perhaps someone else saying it will help open their eyes.

And so, in this regard, I hope coach Dooley brings in the following:
1. New athletic director
2. New staff over ticket office
3. New gameday people
4. New gameday parking attendants
5. New marketing personnel
6. New mens basketball coach
7. New womens basketball coach
8. New womens soccer coach
9. New mens baseball coach
10. New womens softball coach
11. New SID

I’ll post more who need to be replaced immediately later. :D

Why do coaches do that now a days leave fo a job and not bring assistants that’s hard to believe because if you’re good enough to be at one school you should be good enough to be at the other school if not he could’ve fired them before. He is bringing a lot of Florida guys with his so they can recruit the state to be successful if they can get that done they will be extremely successful.

DC was paid 97K.
Alex OL coach was paid 76K.

I think there is obvious wriggle room for coords. It wouldn’t shock me to see both positions paying 100K. I need to research. *going to look at higher caliber shsu’s salaries*

Man... The things I could say about the inner workings at our schools. Any person who does yard work knows we must rip it out by the root or it will keep rearing it’s ugly head.
