Prairie View A&M To Introduce New Head Football Coach Friday Morning





We need to be looking for a freaking AD, because it looks like he f'd this process up and no they will not re-open the process.
 
I dont care who PV has at Head Coach, if they don't get a defense they aint gone do nothing. Coach Dooley and Coach Simmons are the same type of Offensive minded coaches. If PV don't get a defense, it want matter!

We certainly do need another AD; Lonza Hardy is beyond inept and surpasses incompetent.

As far as the hiring process for our HC, we have 2 top candidates, and the last interview was this past Monday (Coach Dooley). From what I understand (and I could be wrong), a recommendation was made (Tuesday) by Hardy and has to go (or either has already gone) for approval to Chancellor Alexander. Once the recommendation is approved by Alexander, the selected applicant will be contacted and a contract presented to be either agreed upon OR negotiated. If the contract is agreeable (with or without negotiations), we'll have a new head football coach.

I too was concerned about the possibility that if neither applicant accepted, did UAPB have a back-up plan in place; in other words, would we re-open the advertisement. I made a random call to someone who has a little "clout" with the University and voiced my concern. After listening to me, he calmly said, "It turns out that I am on the Search Committee. We have received about 40 applicants for the position, and another 15-20 that came in after the advertisement closed. We know one of our top 3 selectees (Maxfield) has decided to stay with Henderson, which leaves 2 applicants. If neither accepts, for whatever reason, we will simply return to the pool of remaining applicants and begin a search for the most qualified applicants and contact them for interviews. " So, UAPB will re-open the advertisement if neither of the 2 accept.

Hell , they already missed out on early signing day. So they are way behind. So Bama A&M and PV. Heck JSU already done hired their OC. Having your full coaching staff together matters unless you one of the big schools and even they don’t like waiting too long to complete their staff this time of year.

Perhaps, but I posted in another thread that because one of our applicants had a big game this past Saturday, it was only fair to allow him to interview along with Maxfield and Thomas after the game, which he did this past Monday. And I think Coach Maxfield had no intention of ever leaving HSU. According to the article, he didn't ask HSU for money, but their AD "wanted to show him and his wife how much they greatly appreciated" what he's done for the Reddies Football program. As I posted earlier, it didn't make sense to me to leave a successful winning program to go someplace else and start over, and as an AAMU poster said, HSU took the bait Maxfield threw out to them.

Really? Wow! I'm thinking the exact opposite.

Don't know what's going on with my folks. I've heard so many different things, and all conflict with what a source who is on the Search Committee told me. This is a mess!
 
This thread is about PVAMU, so I'm gonna do this while it's on my mind:

To the PVAMU alum, I hope your school makes the right choice, and congratulations on your new head football coach! You guys have come such a long way and I hope whoever your new coach is will keep the successful momentum going for Panther football.

Money and contract details. If I were Dooley I would ask for a 5 year contract.

I would also. Another thought is if Fobbs becomes more and more successful...sooner or later the "right" opportunity may show up. Dooley could possibly be the replacement.

So Dooley didn't interview until Monday?
