Alabama State Hornets New FB Coach

Good hire! Seems like a good guy too. He doesn’t have a chip on his shoulder as if he was winning every damn game he played. Jenkins appeared extremely arrogant to me. The players seem to respond to Eley. He deserves this chance. He did something that Jenkins couldn’t do when he was let go and that was WIN. Most of all hoping ASU got it right this time with this hire.
Reginald Ruffin head coach @ Miles also applied for the job. I had a feeling he wouldn’t get it.

Jenkins thought he was slick.

He's a beast behind closed doors but I remember at this press conference he was acting all "preachy" with throwing around all these bible scriptures basically telling black folks what they wanted to hear. Whenever I hear a coach do that I know it's not gonna turn out good.

BTW Reggie Barlow did not apply for the ASU head coaching job.

after reading the story I can't say I like the criteria they used to select a coach. someone who knows the state? DHE only experience in the state is what he's gotten there. as well, I think looking for an experienced head coach means you shut out young assistants ready to make a move up? if an assistant can't get a job and make a name at bama state...then where? but I guess if your limiting yourself to former or current hbcu head coaches with ties to the state. that list is pretty short.

good luck. I'll be sitting with my dad in the stands watching as this unfolds.

Right now, the number of coaches to choose from is POOR! Alabama did the right thing. Their offense SUCKS. but they have a decent defense. All they need to do is fix the offense. Why start over?

I like it.. The EAST will soon be JSU vs Alabama State again!

Hughes is still y'all coach.

The East should be wide open next season. Will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

That will totally depend on JSU and AlaState.

Alcorn will continue to drop and we already know AAMU and Valley will be dumpster juice.

You ain't gotta be scared of him. We've seen coaches come from the SEC that was supposed to be scary. How's that working out for JSU?
Who did they suppose to scare? And who said that they would scare someone? But, i tell you this..............this next OC..................well........
