SU wasn't the only team Coach Fobbs threw the book at. I guess he wanted to practice that on us first.

I stand by my statement. Of course no coach will say in an interview that they held back. It's a strategic ploy.
For example you have Alcorn folks who believed they almost won the game but we had 2nd and 3rd string on the field to minimize injuries for the Celebration Bowl. It was a matter of simply wearing down the clock for the win without risking our starters.

I would be surprised if you didn't stand by your statement Founder. No harm, no foul. You stated what you believe, I just disagreed. It was last season (2016); if it's a "strategic ploy", so be it, and if that's one of his methods to motivate his team, it was useful and worked. He said he wanted to "show some people some things"; he definitely did that.I know there's trash talk among athletes. I admit it did kinda strike me as odd when I saw that Coach Fobbs used the opinion of one player from the last-place team in the conference to "motivate" the number one team in the conference. But to be honest, he did say that he didn't think that anything malicious was meant from Willie Young's post.

I want this one badly, but we are going to have bring it. NCA&T is the second toughest team the G-Men are going to see this year by far. Anytime a FCS program beats a FBS, it's a big deal, but I would pick Tulane to beat Charlotte any day of the week. NCA&T could have easily lost that game, but they were playing with more passion than people think due to their former QB playing for the 49ers. The Aggies were playing for pride and respect against a kid who kicked them to the HBCU curbs. That game was actually a pleasure to watch.
NCA&T is a very talented program lead by a great coach, but they are beatable. Grambling folks know the only way to beat Broadway is to fight fire with fire. If we do this, we will win. If Fobbs allows Dooley to play hide and seek, we will be our tails smashed before the 3rd quarter because winning a defensive battle won't go in our favor.

Quarterbacks DeVante Kincade and Lamar Raynard earned their conference’s Offensive Player of the Year awards.
Grambling State (11-1), winners of the SWAC, and North Carolina A&T (11-0), winners of the MEAC, possess so many similar qualities and characteristics, it’s scary.
Current Aggies head football coach and former Grambling State coach Rod Broadway guided the Tigers to a national championship in his second year back in 2008. Current G-Men head coach Broderick Fobbs won the national title in 2016, his third season at GSU.
After leaving Grambling after the 2010 campaign, Broadway took over a North Carolina A&T program that was stumbling through a stretch of 27 straight losses. Since his first year in Greensboro, North Carolina in 2011, Broadway and the Aggies have won 57 games. The last four years, A&T has won 38 games and has won at least a share of the MEAC championship three times.
“I’ve been around A&T, my dad (current GSU running backs coach Lee Fobbs) was at A&T for a couple of years, I was able to see how they do things as well,” Fobbs told local reporters at the Celebration Bowl press conference Thursday. “One thing I can honestly say that Aggie pride is real. You’re talking about two storied programs, understanding putting football in its rightful place and giving it what it needs in order to be successful.”

Coach Broadway embraced H. Klugh, Charlotte's QB, after the game. There was no hate there In fact, it's speculated he left because of Raynard.

A&T has given up just 15 TD's this season, compared to 30 for Grambling. That could be a big difference.

I take that stat with a grain of salt. Fobbs does not like to blow out people thus he removes his starters LONG before he should in my opinion. Yet, I'm not the coach.

Broadway knows that your offense can be your best defensive player.. He is going to RUN THE BALL. Only way you beat Broadway is to get far enough ahead he can't beat you by wearing you down. Don' t know how athletic A&T is.
Honestly both teams would be in the Final 4 of the playoffs..

Grambling folks know Broadway very well. Of course he would embrace the kid after the war. It's not about hate, it's about winning and respect. I watched the game and A&T was laying the hammer on that trader every chance they got. A friend of mine and A&T alum told me when the match up was made that the Aggies were coming for blood. Say what you want, but Broadway came to bust assss and then worried about class.

You have to keep answering to Broadway in order to beat him. If we get down two scores, the game will be over. Broadway will but on the most Army-Navy style ball controlled second halfs we have ever seen if we get down. Fobbs is going to have to unleash the firearms for this one. This is Fobbs biggest test as a head coach.

Todd may save the day. We struggled on offense against Central last year and this A&T is much better. It will be up to Our defense to stop A&T while Our offense can put together meaningful drives and points on the board while giving Our defense a breather.

I'm responding to your posts because you were referring to me.
Just because I have my own opinion(s) about this particular topic, and because I posted links/quotes to reference my point, does not make me a "true Grambling hater". I try to have intelligent convo with folks on the boards, and I thought folks were intelligent enough to realize this. I may not hold all the opinions about GSU as you do, but that doesn't make me a hater. I congratulate them every single time they horse-kick us; I supported them & congratulated them on their SCG and am pulling for them tomorrow.
I'm sorry that you mistook my thoughts and opinions as "hate". And yes, my school hasn't been winning, but the fact that yours is still does not make me a hater.
As always, nothing but the best for GSU moving forward, and I hope your Tigers represent our conference well.
