Congrats to the All-SWAC players. Gram has swept offensive and defensive players of the year awards in consecutive years. I am not sure if this has been done.

Congrats to Broderick “All I do is win coach of the year awards” Fobbs.

4-time Coach of the Year!

Maybe I'm wrong, but how did a guy who didn't finished 1st in any category become DPOY?

Huh?????

so you are saying Christmas didn't have enough tackles etc....

Maybe I'm wrong, but how did a guy who didn't finished 1st in any category become DPOY?

Come on now. You already know smh.

As I said in the other thread a lil while ago, we can't even get simple stuff like awards right so I wouldn't trust these people as far as I can spit.

The leading tackler in the SWAC gets left off completely (couldn't even put him on 2nd team)

The 2nd leading tackler (who led for most of the season until the last game) makes 2nd team

The best/most consistent WR in the SWAC that led in yards, receptions per game and YPG makes the 2nd team.

Yet someone who didn't finish 1st in anything gets DPOTY? Come on man.

You can bet the people from north LA will say you are "whining"

ummmmm.... PV'ers.... don't look @ the first team all-SWAC defensive selection @ DB. lol

I'm sure coach Simmons is overjoyed right about now since his "project" got first team O. Too bad we finished 3rd SWAC - West. Congrats to Zach Elder. He deserved frosh of the year for what he contributed. Hopefully he'll continue to get stronger as time goes.

Shout out to the Texas Southern players that made the all-conference team (sarcasm)

Someone is coming. I GUARAN-F'ING-TEE you one of your future defensive stars WILL BE 1st Team ALL-SWAC soonest. Those related, we're going to push him and help keep him focused. ::read:: THAT is a guarantee. We don't produce bullshit out this'a way.

All of the "wolf tickets" sTu posters were selling this summer (with their elite coaching, top secrets, transfers & recruits), one would have surmised that at least half of the players would have made the team. Hell they were having "Star Wars" with some jsu posters.

Yeah, well.....we came up a bit short BUT there were a couple of guys on the D side of the ball that should have made second team at least. That is one T - Tigers' opinion.

I'm still not sure how the SWAC picks POTW and POTY, but it would be really great to see each school represented. There's 2 all-SWAC teams and I honestly believe each school has talent sufficient enough for selection.

But I guess that's just wishful thinking on my part.

Congrats to De’Arius Christmas for the Defensive Player of the Year!!!!
Christmas was the heart beat of the #1 defensive in the SWAC. The reason he didn't lead the SWAC in tackles is because he is around other good players. Watch the first play in the Bayou Classic. Christmas didn't get the INT but he caused the Austin Howard to get rid of the ball.
