Your football IQ is questionable if you thank SU gave the game away. The G-Men allowed you to hang around. Y'all are lucky to be dealing with two score loss. You should be thankful the score was closer than last year because you could have be blown away by halftime.

Nobody said that all of the Coach Rob's teams that Pete beat weren't good. In fact, he beat 2 good GSU teams and received props for that. But to act like he beat up on a prime Eddie Robinson is just stupid and ignorant. There are a handful of you SU folks who act as if this happened. In fact, there is an ignorant bunch who act as if his name is ranked in front of Eddie Robinson. Yes! It's insane. Pete is a great coach who brought SU back from the dead and put on spectacular 8 Bayou Classic win streak to help regain a series lead. I was a big fan of the man's style and recruiting abilities. All of this history is fine, but unlike you, G-Men take the W's and L's and move on to the next challenge. You are still crying over getting beat by the better team, better staff and better quarterback. Odums wasn't better than Fobbs this year, SU wasn't good enough to have a 10-1 record, and your QB wasn't good enough to throw 0 INTS/pass or run for enough TD's to win the game.

Next year, we are going to put pure heat on Fobbs, Dooley and Todd to beat y'all again and continue to reach deep in our GSU blood to take back what is ours. It's time to take SU fans back to "life before Pete brought us back" in the Bayou Classic. You said that a Pete coached team would have won last Saturday, and it's hard for me to say you are wrong. But hey, y'all fired him and now you have to live with it.

GSU won. SU didn't give the game away, they lost it after a good kick return, a strike from Kincaid and a TD run from Mr. Excitement. SU's under 2 minutes of having the lead was ended by a better team. Take it on the chin and man up.
TELL THE TRUTH!! Grambling has the longest win streak 9 but MY JAGS has the longest BAYOU CLASSIC win streak 8. ACE WILLIAM MUMFORD IS A BETTER COACH THAN Eddie Robinson. If it wasnt for ACE WILLIAM MUMFORD passing Grambling wouldnt b highlighted like they are today point blank!! O YEA PETE RICHARDSON IS A BETTER COACH TOO!!

This dude is still bragging on Mumford beating Robinson in his early 20s. lol

Seriously... It’s ok. Mumford was great. Pete was great. Eddie was great. All of those statements can be true.

Congrats on the win!! But don't down play ACE WILLIAM MUMFORD because there's a whole lot of generations that dont know Coach Mumford. Most people on these board just think Grambling and Coach Rob started the Swac! No no!! We at Southern just dont respect Grambling like the other 8 do, the other 8 pull out the red carpet for y'all.

If if was fifth we'd all be drunk.

Mumford
Coach Rob
Pete

All were great coaches. Yet, Coach Rob is the name that most mentioned in Black College Football. You can play the what if game until you are blue in the face it will not change WHAT IS!

As far as I'm concerned SU has our number in the Classic overall....that is WHAT IS. Right now Fobbs has Odum's number...that is WHAT IS

Hell GSU folks could play the "what if" game concerning Fobbs and his first season but we don't....we look at it and say we got our ass kicked and we move on. Some of you SU folks have a difficult time doing that and it comes across as foolish.

Trust that the feeling is mutual. However, the lack of respect from the Grambling end stems from SU's futility on the football field. SU's traditionless history has a key points. One point is despite being in the SWAC at least 20 years longer than Icon Gram, Gram has at least 8-9 more SWAC titles than SU. From the historical standpoint, the class of the SWAC is Icon Gram and J-State because both wrecked havoc on the SWAC since joining in 1959.

Another point, which I love to share with my SU brethren throughout the year (because SU smack is daily with my South Louisiana roots), is SU literally went championless from the presidency of Gerald Ford to Daddy Bush. Think how America changed during this period, but the futility of SU football stayed the same. Meanwhile, Icon Gram has never gone more than six years without a SWAC title since we joined in 1959. I need to research, but I am not sure no program in the history of college football has accomplished this.

In the grand scheme of things, Pete Richardson truly was a godsend. SU is still living off his efforts which made SU relevant again. However, you cannot offset the balance of power and the destiny of Icon Gram. Like Basebone1898 wrote, life before Pete for SU is in process. This is the reason for all this emotion from the Jag faithful because it is developing right before your eyes. Life before Pete is your history. Today is three in row, next year it will be four in a row. You cannot change destiny, which is being second fiddle to Icon Gram. It must be painful to realize that SU being mentioned in the same breath as Grambling is assignable to a once in a lifetime moment of Coach Rob being at the end of his era.

Team you forgot one addtional factor...EVERY coach since Coach Rob has won a SWAC Championship and a Black National Championship. I don't think few schools can say that about 5 coaches.

Wow. I never thought about that.

Here's another interesting tidbit. I was talking to an old Grambling alum on Thanksgiving Day. He's diehard and approaching his 90s. He told me in Coach Robinson's first two years as head football coach (1941 & 1942) the school was a state junior college and for the next two seasons there was no football at all because of WWII. He told me that it was sometime during this two year hiatus the school became a 4-year school. I had no idea.

This is filled with inaccuracies for one SU claimed a SWAC Title during the Ford presidency also during that time represented the conference in the Pelican Bowl that pitted the conference champions from the SWAC and MEAC. Congrats on the win, but we should both always celebrate both of our great tradition wealthy programs.

Coach Rob coached at GSU for 56 years. Now we know that he did not play Ace 56 times....that being the case please explain why Coach Rob's record is 408-165-15? I mean was Mumford so powerful that when he passed away it made the other coaches weak????

Let's take it a step further....when Ace Mumford passed away at 62 Coach Rob was 43. Come on man....Hell if Coach Rob was not a coach he would refer to Ace Mumford, Mr. Mumford. LOL...let it go bruh...please.
