I think he is a good fit because Florida has been spoiled by Spurrier and good QB play and they haven't had it since Tebow and Chris Leak.

Mullen was able to turn 3 star QB Dak Prescott (primarily a DT) and turn him into a NFL QB. Nick Fitzgerald (also a 3 star) could end up better than him (barring he comes back 100% from his injury). Florida will allow him to get better DT QBs and his resume will allow him to tell FL boosters to fall back lol

Yup. Hopson is enjoying building his resume as a head coach. He knows that USM is his ticket to the SEC after he takes USM to a conference championship or two. C-USA has been weakened since the American has been formed, so he knows he is sitting in the right seat.
 
I truly did not think Mullen was leaving. I thought he was going to play it safe and stay at Miss St.

It looks like I was wrong on Jimbo as well. It's coming out that Texas A&M is breaking the bank and offering $7.5mil a year to get him out of Seminole country.
 
Dan Mullen going to Florida is a great hire. He was option No.3 for them after Chip Kelley went to UCLA and Scott Frost turned down an invite to discuss the job (heading to his alma mater at Nebraska). He and the AD have a good relationship, Mullen has shown he can actually have some success in the SEC, and unlike the 2 previous hires is actually coming from another P5 school. Florida actually has the QBs on the roster (Toney and Trask) that would be perfect for his system. He has to move quick to assemble his staff to keep the recruiting class in tact. Florida in its current state actually isn't as hard a job as people make it out to be. If Mullen can win 9-10 games each season while producing a solid offense, the fans will be all over him in a good way. Especially if he beats Florida State and solves the Saban puzzle that only Auburn seems to crack every 4 years. lol
