Norhwestern State vs Grambling: Game Updates -6:00pm CT

The bottom line is every SWAC team got some soul searching to do if we gonna keep the Celebration Bowl title and HBCU bragging rights.

Howard is looking impressive, NCATSU is looking impressive, FAMU in my opinion is looking impressive, NCCU seems to be pretty impressive ... the MEAC is way stronger than the SWAC right now. It's supposed to be the other way around.

Wait.... FAMU only manages 29 on sTu... just 5 more than lowly HBU and they're impressive. PV puts 31 on the #3 FCS team and they aren't impressive. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK.

FAMU also managed to score a touchdown against a SEC team last weekend and keep them from scoring over 50 points ... something PVAMU couldn't do last year.

That dude supports tsu football; which is a dumpster fire at this point. Because they suck, he wants everyone to suck. It's extremely transparent and that's why you just have to laugh. Even when he praises other teams its backhanded;all with the intention of making tsu look good (which is no easy task, all things considered).
He and other tsu folks have been in everybody else's business all summer long over hyping their coach and team. When it became obvious that they are still tsu, suddenly everyone isn't "impressive". Atleast DaSleeper had the good sense to disappear once tsu was exposed.

I really wish we would've played the labor day classic so we wouldn't have to put up with this all season long lol.

We did this last year though

I'm happy you guys won the first game in your new stadium but don't forget ya'll had all ya'll football scholarships last year and years before that .... we didn't for the last four years. That of course affected the quality of players we have. We just getting off our scholarship restrictions this year.

But ya'll are still in the same boat with us ... no SWAC championships this decade and no Celebration Bowl invites. Ya'll are not a FCS or SWAC powerhouse in football just like we are not.

Looks like the G Unit did their thing

Ummmm, you must be young or in denial, even the year Johnny Cole was cheating, we still beat you

But how can you use this excuse when the last time yall were relevant in the labor day classic series, PV offered NO scholarships or extremely reduced ? Y'all still claim wins over those PV teams dont you? Lol

Anyway, congrats to Grambling. The state fair classic will be a great one

No team in the SWAC is great this year. I'm sure you think Grambling is which is fine but I think you're in denial ... they're an OK team that can lose in the SWAC and defeated a below OK FCS team last night. I watched the Tulane and NWSU games and again I was simply unimpressed. The G-Men were way better last year ... the success has apparently gone to their head

I am not impressed with my G-Men. I think we all know we were better last year at this point. I just hope we clean up a few things. We made Tulane (who's offensive line is terrible), look like a SEC program. There is no way Tulane would have blown away the 2016 team. Hopefully my G-Men are off the clouds and back to business.

So we lose 6 of 11starters on offense and 7 of 11 starters on defense and we suppose to be as good as the 2016 team? REALLY!!! By the end of the season, we will see if u guys want to be on the same field as the G-men. And for Mr. Unimpressed, u must be a basketball fan, cause u guy dont know football.

I knew Grambling was going to have growing pains because Grambling lost more starters than anyone in the SWAC. All schools in the SWAC have something they can improve on but only 2 teams in the SWAC right now that I have no faith in them challenging Grambling/Alcorn are Valley and UAPB.

I won't require your limited insight and foresight for my thoughts. Appreciate you trying though.

Neither am I. We need all the players to come to play like Martez Carter. We could be playing the New England Patriots and he would be trying to break tackles and gain yards after being hit.

In Martez we trust!!!!

Also, we had two starting offensive lineman and two defensive starters injured.

I only got to watch part of the game, but good win Grambling!!! Glad one of us got a win over the SLC this weekend.

I think it's that they don't follow their teams anywhere except for mcneese. Those cowboy fans will follow their fans anywhere.

+1. I expected a better showing from shsu fans @ PVAMU. The facilities excuse is WAY out the window as there is only 61.2 miles separating both schools from their front doors. In our east side stands where the visitors would normally sit, there were a LOT of us purple/golders there. We didn't outnumber the sam faithful but it was god awfully empty on that side, imho. FTR, we are planning to take over their stadium when we go there, naturally smh. Go figure...

Atleast we're getting 200k to go there though lol.

I sure wish PV would have won.

McNeese fans don't travel like home attendance. I remember when we played them in the Astrodome in 2000 and they barely brought 2,000 fans

The SFA/SHSU classic in NRG buses their students to the game...before goig to Houston it only drew 15K at best on campus

They had at least close to a thousand when the came to Mumford in 04 even had a nice rv crowd. Even if they travel less than they did then it's still better than the rest of the SLC
