Well, one on hand, you have one of the finest institutions of higher education in the country in Alabama State University, and then you have Alabama A&M, which isnt too bad either. The two largest HBCUs in a football crazed state, have them meet in a central location with a large black population and have festivities held all week and there you go. With 60k people inside the stadium and as many or more outside tailgating, it is one of the largest gatherings of African-Americans in the country.

They have been playing since the 20's even though both schools were started in mid 1800's. That is a long time to meet in the middle (Birmingham) and also both universities largest population contributor outside of its own city.

Magic City Classic. The first game between the two schools was played in 1924. It has been an uninterrupted, annual tradition since 1945 and has been played at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama since 1946. The homepage for MCC is https://magiccityclassic.com/

The all-time Magic City Classic record is 39-33-3 with AAMU leading the series.

that's why when some of yall from these other Swac schools & Swac Office idiots, who does the preseason rankings, get to hyping up Bama st on what they gone do! ...we just laugh LOL

I attended my first MCC in 1969 and have not missed one since. If the good Lord is willing I will see my 48th consecutive MCC. I've witnessed the game grow into an event. Plus it's a good clean rivalry with our public supported sister HBCU. The continuous play has been embraced by the local community. I wish I could say the same about both program's rival Tuskegee. The games between the three programs have been played intermittent since Bama State and A&M left the SIAC. We in Montgomery are excited about the renewal of the rivalry with Skegee Labor Day weekend.

I've never been to A&M's campus. I'd like to see us take over Lewis Crews. I've never been a fan of neutral site games.

The reality is that when go home and home, you cant take over - you get allocated at best 20% of the tickets. You should go to the hill and check out a game, but this is one I hope never happens until I am six feet under.
