Definitely curious to see how it pans out for next year. We already have 4 OOC games scheduled.
 



Based on an interview Duer Sharp gave. I think he and the presidents signed a bad contract with NRG Stadium. The stadium has increased the fees it’s charging and this is the best way to get out of the contract.

But they still had to buy out the remainder of the contract.

Thats a lot of money down the drain.

But, again...why cancel it outright? Just host the game at the home field of the team with the best record.
 
How long was the contract for? BUT do know this was a financial decision based on bad decisions at the top. If you can't make averaging 35K+ fans work, something is wrong with that picture.

i dont' think that is what he is saying but at some point, they have to tell the ADs when to start back scheduling 9. You dont want them to keep scheduling 4 ooc games..

Scheduling will be affected if SWAC has to revert back to a 9 game mandate and we already have 4 out of conference games for next season.

You guys just love to make wild assumptions based on nothing for the Doomsday mentality.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But I didn't see anything in the article are here anyone say that they were going back to a nine-game schedule.

You guys keeps talking about what they're making profit-wise. I'm of the belief that it had more to do with him not getting enough sponsorship especially after what was revealed after this year's basketball tournament ended

Oh, I agree. I was (and still am) in favor of the SCG. It is/was the SWAC's signature event. For the commissioner to say that the conference is giving it up just to focus on the Celebration Bowl is crazy. He has already hinted that it may come back in the future - which I think it will. The decision to terminate the SCG was all about expenses. The conference was spending more than it was making. Point blank...end of story.

The conference may very well have a new commissioner around this time next year.
 
Y'all do realize we were the only FCS conference that had a title game right?

Out of 25 Division 1 conferences there were only 14 two maybe 15 conferences that actually have title game.

Not a bad idea TP. Probably one of the best ones you had in over a decade or so.

Just think I might actually get a chance to go sit behind that live in Grambling and watch a game are actually see them at Mumford Stadium for the first time getting that butt kick like y'all do all the time.

Excuse ME if I try to move ahead to the end game using COMMON SENSE - Since we have 2 Divisions and a 7 game mandate where teams dont play everyone - and some conference opponents are playing each other but those games dont count in the standings - minus that SCG how will a Conference Champion be chosen under this current format without controversy? What happens in the case of a Tie in the Division and the schools that are tied dont have common opponents for tie breaker purposes? There are other scenerios that can pop up that leaves too much to chance using the current format. But then again this is the SWAC and leadership does not have Common Sense or logic so nevermind......

Research the several other conferences that don't have a mandate to play each other how the work it out.

The meac have been doing it for years.

How many conferences that dont have a mandate also have separate divisions sir? And using the MEAC is not a good example because it further highlights exactly what I just said - a 5 way tie for first place and folks still mad..

Research and see. As for the five way tie and people getting mad. Ninjas are going to find something to be angry about no matter what, like this game for example .

90 % of them that are complaining predicted it wasn't going to last more than 3 yrs, now they are complaining that their prediction finally came true.

As for the five way tied obviously it work out because they didn't send five teams and the one they sent won .

Like I said earlier "black folks just love speaking death into life"

If they don't its dumb. How you gonna play 9 games and THEN have a championship and then when the championship is over, you don't play 9? Talk about ass backwards!

Show where 90 percent of the folks who initially complained about the SCG are complaining now. I didn't see many folks complaining about the SCG to begin with. Sounds like you're just making stuff up as you go along.

Same thing tho.. if you one of the biggest games, why cant' you get sponsors? Look at these lil ragged classics that go on and on....
