Kobe is all-time great player, but he's not a better basketball player than LeBron James is. Many who have extensively studied the sport from a historical perspective, including the writer of the piece says as much.

A respected basketball writer recently released a list of the 40 best players since the ABA/NBA merger. LeBron is No. 2. Kobe is No. 9.

His opinion is no better than mine. And there are certainly not nine better players than Kobe.
If basketball is truly 70 percent mental as "most of the experts claim", Lebron is not better than Kobe.
Lebron is still mentally fragile in clutch moments. This is another reason he'll never be better than Jordan.

Without being mentally prepared, you will inevitably hit one of these slumps. There are many players who have their game rituals which may seem odd but they help these great players to succeed on the mental court as well as the physical. Basketball mental toughness does not just come to a player, you he need to train for it. Not all basketball coaches teach this part of the sports, however sport psychology for basketball is 90 percent of the game. It is all mental!

But getting back to Kobe and Lebron. Besides MJ, there will never be another player like Kobe. Teams respect Lebron but they feared Kobe.

Lebron still disappears in clutch moments. Why pass the ball in the clutch to Kevin Love of all people? Are you kidding me?!

That's when he was double or triple teamed. Lebron was not doubled on that pass to Love in the corner. He had a short jumper in the lane and he panicked and bailed himself out by passing the ball. Lebron simply let that game slip away because he was too unselfish and nervous in the clutch. You don't pass the ball when you're guarded by one person and you're already in the lane.

If Shaq played in the 80s or earlier he would have fouled out of every game lol. Daryl Dawkins would probably have Shaq numbers if they'd let him get away with bumping folks under the goal and dunking on them. BTW, Jordan is a better all around player than Lebron.

Where did I claim to hate Lebron? I was actually pulling for the Cavs. Dude is just not clutch. It's just that simple. He had a five foot shot in the lane and passed it out to a bench player for a 20 foot shot. He was scared to shoot the ball. That's not hate, just fact.
 
Ima Lebron fan but passing that ball to Korver with your season and legacy on the line was one of the weakest plays Ive ever seen.

Korver is ranked 7th all-time in 3-point shooting percentage and it was weak to pass it to him when he's open?

Lebron's history goes before him. Last night's effort lends more credence to what I'm saying. Look at him being the first to leave the court. He couldn't get back to the locker room fast enough. Body language and facial expressions during clutch moments speak volumes.
