Southern and AAMU Game Oct 7, 2017 Questions





Thanks for the info. A lot of hotels have doubled their rates. Attending away games is becoming a major issue for Senior citizens. Rules being set up by most Dept of Safety Chiefs does not take into account the handicap or older fans. This is something that need to be addressed by all schools. It is a major problem for seniors traveling by bus. When we try to discuss the issue upon arrival they just follow directions.

Maybe you all can form a coalition with other boosters in the conference and address it.

You may want to start on FB and see if other conferences seniors have the same issues.
 
Great idea. One situation was so bad, I wrote the President and never got a response. I was asked not to contact the State Department for handicap seniors. My first attempt has been the Athletic Director. UAPB, Grambling, and Alcorn are great and allow us to tailgate from the bus. Southern allowed us to park in the same spot every year, but said it would be the last time in 2015.

Was that y'all that used to set up literally right outside the band room door?
 
Clear bag policy goes into effect at Mumford next year, also (im not sure) I think they are going to start selling alcohol also next year?

Hmm....first I heard I that. As far as I know they voted the selling of alcohol down at lsu. So I seriously doubt that's going to happen and quite frankly I hope not.

Yes, we have been in that spot for the last 5 trips. We have to stay clear of the band. Some band members take part in the tailgate. Number one we are the best tailgaters in the SWAC.

Yes, homecoming has historically been a night game at Southern. It's considered a night/evening game, although it starts around 5:30 pm with the other Homecoming activities.

The last two Homecoming games had 4 pm kicks, but that's it.

Yeah that's it. We can't hold our juice in Louisiana.

Just my personal opinion that they don't need to sell it on college campuses. It's not like it's Texas where it's dry.

Folks that want to drink will drink anyway. At least make some money off it
