By my count those alums record on judging what's best for the athletic program isn't too good.

Well those individuals better hope that the AD made the right decision because if not y'all G-Men better run that AD out of town. I saw improvement in gramblings basketball team the last two seasons
 
There is talent in CenLa and NELA. however, how much of that talent is academically sound enough to get in as true freshmen. If not, how many of them will get snatched up by larger schools when they get from JUCO ball.

The really, really, really good players from Louisiana usually don't play college ball in Louisiana.
 
I think all of that is code for "APR issues".
The coach wants players that can play. The AD wants players that have a high GPA.

I don't know how you would come to that conclusion after I gave you THE REASON this happened. This is not a coded issue. This has nothing to do with APR.

Damn right!!!

It's players right here in Lincoln Parish that given the proper coaching could be NCAA All Americans PLUS they WANT to stay local and attend college.

A lot of what is being said in this thread in conjecture.
 
How the hell can the AD be in charge of what type of players the COACH brings in? It sounds like the AD wishes he was a coach. There is so much to do as a AD than try to control the basketball team. Grambling deserves the multiple losing seasons they are about to have.

I understand.

Our VP of Intercollegiate Athletics does not get in the way of telling Mike Davis where to recruit and it seems to be working out for us.

HNIC Syndrome strikes again
 
I'm sure a few AD's in Louisiana are beginning to watched LSUA's basketball program closely. They are just a 3 year program and went to the NAIA Final Four this year with mostly Louisiana talent, which proves there is talent in Louisiana. I'm sure they would have beaten a few D1 programs. Due to LSUA's recent success, I'm sure some AD's at D1 programs might be thinking that their school might be passing over talent in Louisiana.

It's waaaaay easier for someone to be eligible to play NAIA ball than Division I NCAA.
